BUG: Upload from CAS to Gallery disallowed/prohibited words warning

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Version 1.78.59.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: Get To Work, Get Together, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Cottage living; GP: Dine Out, Vampires, Parenthood, Strangerville, Realm Of Magic, Journey To Batuu, Dream Home Decorator; SP: Cool Kitchen, Spooky, Movie Hangout, Romantic Garden, Laundry Day, Moschino, Tiny Living, Nifty Knitting, Paranormal.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Household "Vladislaus Straud" needs to be viewed in CAS, then either upload to the household to the Gallery or save in private library. (At the moment of this report I am not aware if this bug happens with any other pre-made townies, as I have not tested it enough)
What happens when the bug occurs? While trying to save Vladislaus Straud's household to either the Gallery or to my own library, the game will notify me that the action cannot be completed because of two reasons: 1. upload to the Gallery: error message "The family name should contain 1 character and at most 25 characters." 2. saving to personal library: error message "Warning: A Family Name, Sim Name, or Description currently contains a disallowed word. You will not have the ability to later upload this Household to the Gallery. Do you want to proceed anyway?" The game flags any word or letter as disallowed/prohibited, and this persist even when deleting the entire description, title of the household, name and surname of the Sim (Vladislaus Straud).
What do you expect to see? Being able to upload Households to the Gallery without getting mistakenly flagged as "disallowed/prohibited word"
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I would like to add that I have removed and disabled all Mods from within the game, tested the bug and it still occurred.

  • @crinrict I updated my game to the latest patch with version 1.79.93.1230 and went in game to try re-uploading the household to the Gallery and it worked! I can't be sure if it fixed it completely but I didn't get any message errors while uploading from CAS to the Gallery. Hopefully it won't happen again. 🙂

Thank you for your help, it was really nice of you.

    Happy gaming to you too!

  • @KiranSims The family name is > 25 hence the message. I don't know if that is a new thing. I removed the count from the family name and then it uploaded fine.
  • No, that's not the issue as I was already aware of the character limit in the name, the issue comes from not being able to upload that specific household even when the title contains any single random letter, it keeps getting flagged as prohibited words. I tried changing his name in CAS and Household too (from random names to a single letter such as "s/v/c" etc) before attempting to upload again, and then deleted the entire description too, still gives me an error.

@KiranSims Hm. Did you change anything about the household from the default ? Added more charaters ?

I had no issues uploading him if I remove the Count from the household name to make it shorter. Did you change the household name from the map (not when uploading) ?
  • I didn't add any sims, since I had not played with this specific Household. The save file is new and the only thing was giving him and other townies makeovers.

I was playing just now in game, so I tried entering CAS and save the household to my library again, despite the message errors. I noticed that after I save the Household, I can upload it to the Gallery through my private library. I did the same thing with both Mods enabled and disabled.

I'm not sure what is setting off the flagging warning, but it definitely comes from within CAS (I don't use custom content on any Sims).

@KiranSims I started a new save and didn't change anything, Took Vlad to CAS through the household manager.

Can't upload to the gallery cause name to long
When saving to the library I get the warning of disallowed words and that I can't upload to the gallery this way. I can upload him with the name being too long anyways as you say from there

If I try to upload to the gallery directly, I still get the error even if I make the name shorter in the upload dialog. Seems like that change doesn't save or something

I then left CAS and changed the household name in the household manager (removed Count). After that I was able to upload him to the gallery directly
