So I have had the same issue as everyone else here. Franchise mode.. lasts about 5-6 minutes before crashing on Xbox series x. After trying many many many many things I have found it only happens in the menus, ( editing roster, trades, signing free agents, scouting). I was able to still play the games without crashing( 9 minutes quarters). So if you can get through the initial part of getting your team together ( when it crashes it always saved my last move) and keep loading back up after it crashes then playing the season games shouldn’t crash as it hasn’t for me. What I am unsure about is the draft as I have not got that far and if it will crash during that. Hopefully this issue gets fixed soon but judging by the fact that the EA rep thought the issue was something plugged into the USB…. I’m not holding my breath.

There have been cases in the past like with FIFA where if the Guitar Hero Dongle was attached to the console it caused players to get stuck on the loading screen. In UFC 4 a custom Gamertag profile picture that isn't part of the Microsoft default versions was causing performance issues.
What we're trying to do is locate a common denominator while the team is investigating this. We're passing along the info players are providing here to help aide them. In the meantime, what I'm trying to do is find a viable solution to help get you in the game in the meantime because this is not impacting every Xbox Series X or PlayStation user that has the game. There is something happening either on the account side or console side leading to this behavior which we're attempting to locate.Do any of you still have the Madden Technical Test installed on your console?

@EA_BlueberryI’ve factory reset my console and reinstalled the base game. It still crashes in roughly 5-6 minutes after launching the game.

I did not have access to the technical trial (beta). I did play the ea access early trial. Just last night I tried uninstalling and redownloading the game (I have a digital copy from GameStop), but it didn’t help any. I’d also tried deleting the 4GB of reserved space that the console said it was using in case there was something bad there, but again it didn’t help.
- @EA_Blueberry Do you have an endorsement as to whether or not you’d advise to continue trying to play/ the risks of the system crashing doing damage? Seems like trying to enjoy madden is a potential incredible financial liability at this point.
Sorry for the slight jab at the end of my post but this is very frustrating and I think I can speak for everyone here that this doesn’t feel like a priority for EA… like you said this isn’t happening to everyone. I have nothing plugged into my Xbox.. not even the cord to charge. I use batteries in my controller. My picture is like snail or something like that… something I found in the options they gave. I didn’t do the demo as the first time I played this madden was after I went to Walmart, bought the disc, and put it in the Xbox when it came out on 8/22. I even deleted my old madden 21 file. Can you please advise what the madden technical test is? Is that something that is downloaded with the game?
P.S. I did buy the disc that was only for “Xbox series X” and not the one that had “Xbox one and Xbox series X” on it. It was $10 more than the other copy. Not sure if that makes a difference.
- @EA_Blueberry I have NEVER had the Test or an EA Play Early Access situation as I did not participate in either.
So that is not the root of my problem. - @mayorjeffe Don't apologise! We are all very pissed off and frustrated. I think most of us want, ether to have the gane fixed, or get a refund. EA have said no to a refund and so have Xbox. In my opinion its appears, like EA either don't know, what's causing the crashing issue, or really don't care about it. Saying that the issue could be due to USB connections or gamertags, seems like we are being blamed, for whatever is responsible for this problem. I think we all have the right to be extremely pissed off.

For me it’s right after 6 minutes. I load my online franchise save file and just sit on the franchise main menu for 6 minutes and it crashes every time. Not sure why the amount of time it takes isn’t the same for everyone, but it definitely gives the impression some background process is firing off at that time, or maybe sone process is constantly running in the background and it takes awhile before it causes the crash (maybe running out of memory, like a memory leak).You can get a refund thru your credit card or bank, choose option “not as described”. You can also file a complaint with the AG in your state, This game is unplayable for most of us and the money should be refunded willingly by EA
I have a question EA, have you guys tried playing the game? Maybe seeing where the problem is for yourself? Like I have said previously still think anyone that pre ordered this game should get something from EA since the game is pretty much unplayable.
@autobottevo@EA_BlueberryI did some testing myself and when I load up my franchise (online) and just stay in the main menu it crashed and when I timed it on my phone it was little less than 8 minutes (7:53 to be exact) I decided to test it again in the same online franchise and it was under 8 minutes again (7:48).
What is strange about this time though for me with an online franchise is that it is crashing to dashboard and not shutting the console down. Back before when I had the crashing issues it was on offline franchise and it was shutting my console down.
Gonna be doing some tests on offline franchise to see if it fares any different.edit: My offline franchise crashed around the same time, crashed even sooner at 7:43)
- @EA_Blueberry Do you have an update when this will be fixed?
- @mayorjeffe They don’t and my guess is that since it’s not happening to a large enough group of people, it’s going to be some time before a fix is found because it’s not a priority for them…
- @bigdaddykizzle They said Franchise Mode was a priority, but they can't even make it playable. The silence is deafening.
its going on in every mode i have lost 4 weekend leagues because of it. i spent 120 bucks at launch and some more on packs for mut. im done playing this game until its fixed. they better hope its not over heating the system and bricks my xbox. i had this issue in the beta as well. how was this not fixed.
i love this game for me so much better then last year but i cant freaking play it its not cool

It is unplayable. Franchise constantly crashes within a few minutes while navigating the menus.
EA we haven’t heard from you since Thursday I believe, correct me if I’m wrong, any update?

Hey there.
I am working Sundays for the moment and the latest update I see the team has this as a priority to get it addressed it as quickly as possible. They've made positive progress on this and we hope you won't have to wait this out much longer. I know it's painful to be sitting on the sidelines here and it's difficult to be told to be patient, it's hard to see you all experiencing these crashes as from a player myself I know it can be extremely frustrating. Especially for some of us with limited time to play in our life. The team understands this is a major concern for those reporting this and working tirelessly to tackle all the unexpected issues players have raised at launch.
We'll continue to update this thread with relevant information as we hear it. - @EA_Blueberry Thank you for the update!
