I ran a search here and Reddit, nobody else is experiencing what you are with that player. Do you happen to have anything plugged into your console and/or do you have an external hard drive for your console that is in use (whether for Madden or not)?

No, I thought it was coincidental that it involved the Cardinals but anyway, I ve done everything possible and the game won't load a franchise and I have done multiple resets, reset in safe mode 5 and 6, deleted data multiple times and it still is unplayable. I even bought a 2nd copy to eliminate the disc being an issue. Im tired and I quit trying. I just lost the $65 I spent on it and I refuse to try and play it. I'm done with Madden after this. This game is obviously a major problem and the publisher can't fix their own problem so why should I??? I'm not a software designer or developer and it's not fair that I spent my money on a game that I have to fix....what a shame

So in other words, you can't fix your own software and I'm going to have to wait for an update to play this game...if you figure it out. I may get to play a game I purchased in August after the actual NFL season is over. This means I gave you $65 for a beta game that doesn't work and the billion dollar company which monopolized the NFL simulation experience gets to keep my money for something that never worked. I'm so tired of EA issuing out apologies instead of refunds. If you're really sorry and empathize my situation, then issue me a full refund and give me credit towards Madden23 since I already paid for a game that I won't be able to play. Your employer should be embarrassed and be more willing to take care of it's loyal customer base than issuing out empty apologies for taking consumers money and stop pretending to care, just saying

If you are still experiencing crashes after attempting the troubleshooting steps in this thread, this might be due to two personas of the same platform on your EA account. One will have to be removed and linked to a new EA account.

To check:

1. Visit profile.ea.com
2. Under Connections tab, verify you see your PSN ID/Xbox Gamertag. Not seeing it? You are logged into the incorrect account. 
3. If you see more than 1 Xbox or PSN ID each, you will need to remove one and log into any EA game with the removed ID to prompt account creation for that ID. 
4. YOU WILL LOSE PROGRESS FOR THAT UNLINKED GAMERTAG/PSN ID. Visit here for full information on what you lose, including info on Battle Pass for Apex Legends.
5. It is important you link up the Gamertag/PSN ID you removed to a new EA account or else this error can still occur.

this is happening to my xbox once again. it seemed the november update resolved it but i have picked the game up again recently and it is crashing my console randomly. i checked my EA profile as you suggested and everything looks good. i will never purchase an EA game again.

I'm sorry to hear about the crashing you're experiencing. Does a reinstall of the game help prevent that? It's possible files could have been corrupted from an update and a quick reinstall could repair that. 

i had not tried the reinstall yet. running it right now. i’ll get back to you in a couple hours. thanks for responding so quickly.

No problem. Let me know if it helps. If you haven't power cycled the console in a while I recommend doing that, it will help with performance across all your games too.

How to power cycle your Xbox console:

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console’s power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

1. Plug the console power cable back in.
2. Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

i attempted to play a game this morning and it crashed almost immediately. it did crash me to the dashboard this time rather than shutting down my entire console. i suppose that is an improvement.

i keep the xbox plugged directly into the wall. since the app crashed this morning i have played 3 or 4 games over the last few hours without issue.

All of these suggestions are a waste of time.  It’s clearly the game.  

I was playing Madden 22 this morning and my entire console crashed after about an hour of playing. It has been 13 months and still no fix. I will never purchase an EA game again.

i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. i played 3 games of franchise mode over 90 minutes last night with no issues. today i played 4 games in over two hours and did not experience a crash. i will post here if i experience another crash.

@EA_Blueberry Madden 22 crashed my console this morning in the middle of my first game. why is this still occurring?

@EA_Blueberry any update on a fix for this? at this point i am considering contacting a lawyer.
