What social events belong to single events?

Hi, I'm trying to complete chef aspiration for my female sim. The mission is 'Cook 3 gourmet dishes at a single event'. She held a birthday party for her toddler son. She made 'tiered cake' and  'eggs benedict' but the mission is still (0/3).

So I'm wondering which social events can be a single event. Any house, dinner, or birthday or wedding party are not the single ones? Thanks for all helps.

I've never tried using a birthday party to complete that milestone.  I rarely do them at all.  But I have successfully completed the milestone at Dinner, Black and White and House parties.  So you might want to use one of those.  I've also completed the similar milestone in the Mixology aspiration at those events too.

    Hope this helps.

@CGrant56Yes  long time ago, I was able to complete this milestone at those parties you mentioned. I've been tired of playing 5 sims with 2 toddler sims recently, so I just wanted to do the both milestones for party animals and the chef milestone with just this birthday party. But the Throw 3 parties didn't count at all after finishing this birthday party, Earn silver on 3 social events even didn't count but I got gold today, also the chef milestones didn't count. Really weird.. so that's why I'm wondered what the birthday party for the sims means in the sims 4. It sounds like it's not Party at all. Then it shouldn't be in the social event section..in my personal opinion.

Birthday parties are just a trial imo.  I just don't do them much when trying to complete the party type milestones for the various aspirations.  How they work just defies logic to me.  But I have been able to get a birthday party to count for a sim.  But it seems that they will only count for the birthday sim.  So if you have a child aging up to a teen, right after the age up and before the party ends, switch the new teen's aspiration to the Party Animal and the teen should get the credit for holding the party.  Same with a party for a YA or Adult but for those you can set the aspiration before the age up.  Most of the time it works but not always.

One would think that the sim scheduling whatever event it is would get the credit but how it works doesn't seem to make sense a lot of times.  And I've found that doing the same event twice in a row doesn't work either.  It seems to get the milestone to count takes 3 different events which is not what that milestone says.

    Hope this helps.

I usually do the "three gourmet dishes at a single event" as an ungoaled dinner party, since otherwise the "dungeon master" stands around telling you to make garden salads and tell jokes. Nah fam I'm good, I just want to cook gourmet dishes. You need to do all three gourmet dishes at the same dinner party.

And Party Animal is a little buggy. First, only certain events--House Party, Black and White Party, Dinner Party, Birthday Party (but not toddlers I think?), and Wedding--count, and I usually only do the first three. Also, apparently if your Sim is not the active Sim when the party ends--like, if your Sim's spouse is making drinks or something and they're the "active Sim" instead of the one doing the aspiration--your Sim doesn't get credit for the party. Sometimes I think they only test things in single-Sim households. (Sometimes I need to tell another household member to leave that cowplant alone and not eat the cake, and instead have the lovely gourmet dishes we've created.)

Dates count as social events for Party Animal, by the way!
