Turn off auto scaling with OS setting

Ever since the recent update 11/01/2023, my game started the lag, then I repaired and now I keep having this pop up for “ turn off auto-scaling with OS setting” - options: keep current settings or turn off auto-scale(recommended). When i choose this option my game goes into (not responding)-white screen.- very frustrating.

I know that my mods are up to date, I have even removed mod folder from my game tried to load and it’s the same issue .

Has anyone found any fix? Or should I just wait for another patch fix for this error

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
  • Thanks for getting back to me , I was able to resolve the issue by moving my mods folder to the desktop and load the game. The box popped up for turning off scaling and I was able to turn off, save changes , exit game , then put the mods folder back in and load game without issues. My only concern now is switching or better yet upgrading my laptop since my game runs super slow and laggs on it.

  • I have the same exact problem but it persisted even after trying this. Is there anything else you can recommend?
