Re: Tried to play household but takes me to Manage worlds

@Eny22 If you evict the household and move them back in, does the issue persist?

  • @Eny22 if you have mods, remove them, delete localthumbcache and check again (if necessary with moving), is it then still an issue?

Turns out the problem was not fixed and yes it allows me to go into my household. What do I do from here?

  • @Eny22 Sorry, I don't think I follow, you problem was not fixed, but it allows you to go into your household?

Did it return after you restored your mods? Or did it return after playing a while? Then the game now bumps you to manage worlds again?
  • II have the same problem! for me happened after switching from origin to EA ☹️ any tips?

@sammy2409   Hello!  Based on what has been said in this thread so far and other similar threads, this is likely caused by an outdated mod.  Are you playing on a PC or Mac and have mods installed?  If so, please move your Mods folder to your desktop or some other folder for safekeeping.  Also, delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing.  Then launch the game and see if the problem persists.  If not, then you know it's a mod conflict.

Don't save the game at this point.  Exit without saving and test your mods a little at a time until you find the one causing the issue.  It's possible that you just need to check with the creators and get the most updated versions.  Click the spoiler below for steps to test your mods/CC.

    Spoiler

    1. Create a new game for testing so that your current save is left unchanged until you've identified the problem mods/CC.

    2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.

    3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.

    4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,

    5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)

    6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.

    7. Repeat this process until you find all that are broken.
