CC skins not working

So I've tried everything I could to fix my CC skin overlay before coming here to ask for more help. I searched through a bunch of the questions to see if there was anything else I could do.

Here is what I've done to try and get the overlay to work after reading some of the answers to similar questions:

1. Remove all mods except the skin overlay in case one of the other mods was causing it not to work.

2. Repairing my game.

3. Clearing the cache.

At first, I thought it was just one specific overlay that wasn't working but I've tried several others and those didn't work either. I have script mods enabled as well I don't think that's the issue. I've been trying to get the overlays to work for a whole week now but with no success. Please help me!!! I'm slowly giving up

    @cosmicjoon So, test this with a recent skin file, and with that as the only file you have in Mods. Some other default item could easily interfere with it, and there've been times when all default skins needed updating.

    @cosmicjoon Is this a mod you're creating? If so, this forum isn't really set up to support that. You'll want a forum or server that's intended for creator support.

    If not, have you tried a different one? You might just have one that's not compatible with the current version of the game. A

    lso, make sure you do that localthumbcache clearing when you remove or replace Mods folder content, not only as separate step.

    @luthienrisingHi! No this isn't a mod I'm creating it is one I'm trying to use from a different creator to add to my game and use. 🙂
    I've tried several other ones and they don't seem to be working either. I make sure to use the updated/fixed ones as well.
    I did the localthumbcache clearing too before putting my mods back into the folder with the skin overlay but I'll try it once more. Thanks!
