Heirloom guarantee after 500 packs not working

Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)

What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Opening apex packs

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Look into the issue of getting apex packs and not having a count to how many someone gets before getting an heirloom.

I only started buying things in the game past season 4. I've gotten my first heirloom and decided to count every apex pack I got since then. Even with 150 heirloom shards in reserve, all my packs that I bought counted toward the next set of shards. For some reason though, I'm unable to get another guaranteed heirloom. My luck with heirlooms suck. I've always needed to get 500 packs or get them through events. I got 499 packs open today and needed one more. I didn't get anything. I opened an additional 85 or so packs but with no shards. It's frustrating to drop 100 dollars down just to get something and not receive it. I have EVERY common, rare, and epic item in the game. I don't need crafting materials. 37k is enough. All I ask is that respawn can fix this for my account so I can get the shards and have my other 85 count towards the next heirloom. I'm missing mirage and octane and planned on getting mirage today. Looks like that isn't happening until this bug is fixed.

    you have heirlooms, if you get them through the event it re-sets your apex pack count, so when you buy the heirlooms through the event sadly it re sets them so now you need to open around another 500 to get one unless you purchase another heirloom.

    This is not correct, @just_ma1den 

    Event packs cannot give you heirloom shards on their own, and they do not count towards the 500 packs.

    Getting heirloom shards through an event does NOT reset the counter.

    On topic.

    In the past, EA has investigated multiple occasions where players like you, @Cryptonic64, have posted that you should obtain the heirloom shards.

    Never has any bug been found with the count. In every single case the player did not meet the 500 pack requirement yet. See EA reaction below.

    This is a topic we see come up every so often. We've sent some reports like this up for investigation several times in the past, and in each case it was found that there just weren't enough eligible packs opened on the account to trigger the bad luck protection.

    As far as I know there are no bugs, and the bad luck protection is working as designed. If you haven't yet received any heirloom shards I'm afraid it means you haven't opened enough packs to trigger it. Keep in mind, there are some packs that aren't eligible, such as event packs.

    @DYSPROssium No you guys are wrong this time, there is a new bug that is out and it needs to be addressed because I calculated and I opened about 550 packs. I have been playing Apex since the launch date on my xbox account, NinjaVybz. I have reach level 500 many months ago so I got the 199 packs that came with that many levels. I recently spent 150$ to get a heirloom during the 2nd year anniversary event. To my records, getting a heirloom in an event does not take away your chances of getting a heirloom in regular packs. So I got 199 packs, I have got packs from battle passes which are probably 40 altogether and bought at least 30 packs from my own pocket as well, on the day of the release of 2nd year anniversary event I got the Wraith heirloom from buying everything in the event. I really wanted the octane heirloom, so I bought more than 250 packs and I still have not got my heirloom. I have spent a lot of money and i just want to make sure that the right thing is done and that this is actually looked into to as there are many othe people making posts right now with this problem, there will be many more

    @just_ma1den In regards to other events you are wrong but in regards to the 2nd year anniversary event you are right, this is a big and needs to be fixed. I have overspent with no heirloom and I am very frustrated and mad.

    exactly!! Devs aren't taking this seriously... they think this event works the same like the previous events... we are not being taken seriously.. such a big freakin scam!!! Didnt expect any less from EA games. Fix this or AT LEAST ACT AS IF YOU CARE... players have spent hundreds of euros for this... Come on!!!

    You  like all the rest think this event works the same like the previous events... we are not being taken seriously.. such a big freakin scam!!! Didnt expect any less from EA games. Fix this or AT LEAST ACT AS IF YOU CARE... players have spent hundreds of euros for this... Come on!!!   Get into this, look at the numbers, look at the amount of people having this issue.. it has never been this bad before. Isnt that something to motivate you guys to do an in depth investigation into this??

    @DYSPROssium Look, I'm not the only one. There are hundreds and will soon be thousands if ea does not fix this bug and compensate for people who have overspent on regular packs

    I see those reports as well, of course. And there are so many players reporting that there is a bug or that something is off.

    Community managers are also aware of this, as they have replied to different threads on this topic already.

    I hope a developer comes forward and comments on this hot topic soon, hopefully coupled with an investigation.

    The best way of preventing this whole situation is if Respawn implements an Apex Pack counter, which displays the current packs opened after the last heirloom.

    If something ever goes wrong, it is very easy for players to see (counter shouldn't go above 500 because of the guarantee), and players have better proof than the current loose claims of "I opened x packs and should have it".

    @DYSPROssium That is a good way to prevent it however what about the people who have overspent and should have got a heirloom on their 100th pack opening totaling up to 500 rather than their 300th pack opening totaling up to 700? Will their money be eaten. I'm not sure how respawn will compensate the people who have overspent without the guaranteed heirloom, I am one of them.

    If there is a bug that resets the counter with the event, then I hope that people who spend money on the event will be compensated. For example, they grant those players heirloom shards.

    This is of course pure speculation. I've no idea how they would compensate people. A refund may also be an option, but IMO less likely.

    And firstly, they have to actually determine that there is in fact a bug.
