Bro stop complaining. As a player who used to play controller and hit leaderboards on games like Overwatch ono xbox, then moved to MnK and managed to hit it again on pc, at least I have the experience to critique and complain about this topic. Most people who complain about this topic have never even tried to play the other input, and even if they have, they haven't played it long enough to truly say anything about the matter.
One, controller is using joystick. It needs aim assist in fine cursor aiming, especially if it is a faster pace game like Apex Legends. Aiming on controller, is much much harder than aiming with mouse if there is no aim assist. However, there is a lower entry cap for controller players, as their aim will be usually be better than new mouse players. And then again, MnK features a higher skill ceiling that makes it better than controller once a person's aim gets good enough. Playing on controller also forcers players to play on a lower sensitivity, versus playing on mouse which a majority of players have their sensitivity set higher than it should be. Especially considering that the lower it is, the easier it is to aim. This gives controller players an innate advantage in direct 1v1 confrontations of when both players know exactly where the other is.
For literally years you pc players have been complaining about controller players forever, while controller players have been complaining about MnK players for just as long. In most cases, people simply just do not want to admit people are better than them, and want to have an excuse to rely on.
It is a different issue however if the aim assist is too strong. One example of this is most Halo games. This is not really a problem in Apex Legends as the aim assist is even lowered on pc. Yes aiming with mouse is hard when you are starting out. Sure it might feel strong if you just touch it, but it is much lower than you think. Aiming with controller is also hard when you are starting out. It is ridiculously insanely hard when there is no aim assist. Yes aim assist helps majorly the closer the target is, but you can also aim equally as good with the mouse if you already that skilled enough to aim with that on controller. Why? As just like anything, you simply need to put in time. A lot of close quarter fights are more about positioning and strafing. If that controller player put in as much time into the mouse, they can likely still one clip spray easily up close with a mouse.
MnK has many inherent bigger advantages than controllers have too. So what if their aim might be a bit better on average up close. With MnK, you'll have better movement, better aim at range, the ability to react faster, better recoil control, et cetera. You can also use software like Aimlab to rapidly improve your mouse aim.
One is not really better than the other. It is simply trade offs. Although MnK might be better, it has a higher skill ceiling, while controller players having a lower entry skill ceiling. Adding crossplay also adds to the longetitivity of the game, and lets friends play together cross platform.
Hello,
I kindly ask you to remove,

from your post. This is a civil discussion.
I'm not sure you read my entire post, or fully understand it. I say very clearly at the end, " I know first hand how easy it is to play with a controller, and I also know how hard it is to play with a mouse & keyboard.".
I use both input devices, more so controller (22+ years) mouse & keyboard (6 months gaming, (25+ music work, mixing etc). I play Apex Legends on a PC with mostly controllers (about 98%).
I don't think people truly understand that my topics are from a controller user's perspective and automatically assume I'm solely a mouse & keyboard user.
My argument isn't about how strong aim assist is, it's about if mouse & keyboard players should be offered the option of being able to disable cross-play.

Look I have exactly what you have to watch right here to really witness the power of aim assist on consoles.
Playstation Master circuit tournament, I suppose it is 0.6 aim assist.
So no strike packs, no cheats, no rapid fire, no anti recoil and not 1.0 aim assist like the video guy you sent us: they miss like 50% of their shots, they do like 20 damage instead of 200 on PC.
Take a look and don't laugh 😉
