More storytelling please

Hello.

The main reason I’ve started playing Apex Legends in 2021 and kept playing it since then is because I felt in love with the characters and their stories. So, it really saddens me that the narrative aspect of the game is much less prominent now than it used to be. Of course, I understand that you were significantly impacted by voice actor’s strike, and it was unreasonable to expect something like Kill Code the next day the strike was over, but we’re not getting even smaller things anymore like seasonal text-only Quests or short online comics. So, of the small chance that you’re not doing these things because you don’t think there’s a demand for them, I’m writing this feedback to let you know that there are passionate players that values narrative developments just as much if not more than new gameplay modes and meta adjustments.

Also, I would love to see new Legend-specific heirlooms (and I’ll buy them). Universal melees are nice, but for me nothing beats an item that is meaningful for the character.

  • We need:

    • More stories from the outlands
    • Continuations on legend's stories, (such as what happened to Crypto's sister, what happened to Vantages' mom, who "Big Sis" is, etc.)
    • Events, in-game comics, and animations, (such as when we put together Ash's skull, Loba's Kill Code quest, Bloodhound's quest, etc.)

Something else that would be nice to see:

    • An animated series, (like how League of Legends has Arcane)
  • I'm not really one for the lore, my son is, but I really loved the Bloodhound in game story event and would enjoy seeing more along that line for other legends.

  • Hello.

I’m bringing up this old topic to share my feelings about the storytelling in the new season. On one hand, I was pleasantly surprised to hear new character selection voice lines, especially those that reflect the narrative journey they took since their introductions. Also, I loved seeing a new character-themed POI as it has been years since the last town takeover. Yet, at the same time, it was a disappointment to see that once again there’s no seasonal quest and that this season has launched without any story or cinematic trailer. It feels like we are getting great narrative spice, but we are lacking the main dish this spice should be enhancing.

I still hope that this isn’t everything narrative-wise for this season, but I’ll be honest, I don’t feel so confident about it. Which is why I want to once again ask you to put more emphasis on the storytelling.

    Thank you.

    I share the same sentiments.

Apex is a great game, but it was the lore that separated this game from others.

Simply put... lore is great marketing. Especially for the kids and females. My wife hasn't played one game of Apex, but she loved the lore. The fact that EA/Respawn has given up on the "lore audience" of the game is appalling.

Lore was supposed to get better not worse. I don't care if they use A.I., just do something. They started the lore but don't want to continue it. They have to notice the declining viewership on their YouTube channel, which means they're choosing this route.
