I believe (adding content before fixing bugs) was a huge factor in the demise of PUBG! They brought in content to try and misdirect the player base to the current problems. It didn't WORK! It was disrespectful to the players and they got jacked of it! You will gain a more loyal player base if you listen and fix the problems with the game rather than adding battle passes or new characters or whatever! WE have time for all that other stuff IF you LISTEN to the people PLAYING YOUR GAME! Otherwise that number will get less and less!
While I wouldn't exactly say PUBG has met it's "demise" or been a failure... afterall the game pulled in $250M in six months, and probably double that by now.
.. I do agree with the above criticism.
It's a bit disrespectful to players to be talking about and promoting battle passes while the smoke-disable exploit has been known for a week without any hotfix or even communicaiton confirming it's being fixed.
...when there are clearly bugs that are not getting instantly fixed, and yet the community manager is not only saying the team is not working on re-connect, but he's saying it's because "it's exploitable"... which it is not if implemented in any sane way -- as is done in lots of games.
Don't refuse to give us a common solution that helps lots of people (reconnect) and then give us complete lies about why, and be shipping monetization features at the same time. It's really just jerky.
- 7 years agoYeah you are right it hasn't met it's demise compared to other games but it has compared to itself and it's potential it had especially now that even the games original Designer is walking away from it to focus on other games. A lot of the money that was made from PUBG was accounts being banned and new ones being made. The system was and is flawed and is still losing it's playerbase which will eventually be lost all together once someone brings out a similar Battle Royale to PUBG without the hindrances of the games problems and exploits.
