A proper training area

The existing "training" option is more like a tutorial than anything. You always have to go through the movement tutorial, you can only use lifeline. If I just want to practice my aim a bit, I always have to go through that part and when I finally get to the weapons, I don't get the attachments and the targets are way bigger than actual players anyway.

Something that let you properly practice shooting would be sweet.

  • Yes, it’s nonsense that we have to be in a real game just to try other characters

  • I agree, practicing with base guns alone isn't good at all for training. There's a few nuances involved in gun play that can't be properly trained for on base guns alone. Particularly L2 clip extensions or L2 stabilizers. (Strive to get L3s but more often then not you'll find at least an L2 in most games)

  • +1 to this.

There are a lot of character skills that will give your position away in game if you use them just to "practice" which wouldn't be so bad if it were a solo game but it means that to use these abilities you screw over your whole team.
This is especially true for your ultimate which you tend to want to save for a good time but then that time comes around and you have no practice using it.
    Robot: no biggie
    Shield guy: eff no
    Smoke lady: eff no
    Tracker: no biggie
Wraith lady: you'll look like an idiot
    Medic: fine
    Gas man: ?
    Mirage: ?

It's bs that in a team game you often have to compromise your team just to learn crap the hard way. I was just in a game our squad lost at the last fight because I found out THE HARD WAY that the wraith cant open doors while using her lesser ability.
Not really fair on the team-mates but you can't even * off and go solo without screwing your squad.
  • Agreed.

I'm sure they have plans to, though I wish games would be released in a finished state instead of being an arcade-y gimmick.

Even if they do a quick update and add:

    Just a basic area

    One still dummy

One moving dummy that goes back and forth like the moving target in the training area

One jumping dummy (so I can practice shooting those bunny hopping morons)

One 'crouched' dummy moving AT SLIDE SPEED back and forth like the moving target in the training area

    A rack of T1, T2, T3, T4 upgrades

    A rack of each weapon

    Infinite ammo/throwable supply

Basically, just everything you can get in the game on one map so you can practice with the items.  I've been ruining my squads matches trying to play with the P2 and the Mozam and trying to stick enemies with Arc stars.  Sorry to you guys but I want to be versatile.

  • Yes, being able to test all attachments, especially scopes and all legends on the shooting range, would be very helpful and avoid getting confused in a real match.

I want to test pathfinder's grapple, learn how to create effective portals, see how far I can place bombardments and artillery strikes and which area they cover.

I want to learn how mirage passive and ult decoys behave, without bamboozling myself in a match fight.

If we had solo play, we could at least use that mode to practice at the border of the map in peace.

But a proper shooting range would be very appreciated.
