@NandoRos2077You are aware that the significant majority of players are not deaf, therefore an option to switch to something like you mentioned would be available to all and that would be a bad addition to the game. An indicator for the direction of the footsteps is simply a "radar" for everyone.
I don't know how to sugar coat this but fps games likes there are simply sound based and if you are deaf, sorry but tough luck.
- 4 years ago@Schaapje1987 thanks for sharing your point, but it doesn't make much sense. We DO already know the direction of the sounds only by hearing them, so having it also present visually wouldn't add any information to what we already have but only help those who lack hearing sense.
- 4 years ago@NandoRos2077 Understandable but in a high-intensive gun fight, some sounds get blocked out from all the shooting and focus. The one thing that does get seen is visuals, in that case it would be visual cues. No need for a hunter either, too.

That’s a * thing to say tbh. It would be just like fortnite. It doesn’t give anyone an advantage whatsoever. I think it’s a great idea
- 4 years ago@NandoRos2077 That’s the point, it’s not for hearing people, it’s for deaf people.
- 4 years ago@Jesx822 Yes agree with you. I'm a deaf player on apex. I think that great for deaf people need that easy to visual stuff ping and target here .

She did say that all sounds would be muted if the hearing impaired mode was on which would not give the everyone else a leg up. I feel that is an amazing step in the right direction of inclusion. In today's society we are looking to include anyone and everyone we can when possible. That whole "tough luck" mentality needs to be left back in the 1900s where it belongs. We have the ability to help include and modify almost anything when necessary so why not do that to help include the hearing impaired? Scared they will beat you?

Games should be available for EVERYONE to play. Deaf people shouldn’t be excluded from a gaming experience because they lack hearing. They way the post is worded is amazing and turning off in game sound while this is active would be a great step towards inclusion.
- 4 years ago@Schaapje1987 even if there's not a significant majority, there are STILL players who are deaf. just like there are ramps for people who aren't able to walk. inclusion such as this goes a long way. what the person proposed also said that it can be an optional feature just for deaf players and can be turned on and off so that it wouldn't be "a bad addition to the game".
deaf players already have "tough luck", might as well help make the game better for them. - 4 years ago
@Schaapje1987 Not that I disagree that "fps games likes there are simply sound based", but does it have to stay that way?
When the opportunity to help someone who is different from you arises, why throw so much negativity at it?- 4 years ago@kilan225 What do you mean negativity? This is a open and honest discussion. There is no negativity here. Just because it doesn't comfort to your opinion does not mean it is negativity.
A solution he gave was to mute the sound when using those 'deaf mode' since deaf players can't hear it anyways is a nice touch. Unfortunately, this feature will get exploited via glitches/bugs or cheats, guaranteed, so that those that not deaf will be able to use both regular mode and 'deaf mode'.
It's a real concern to be honest.- 4 years ago@Schaapje1987 Well, those glitches/bugs/cheats will be exploits, and I hope that Respawn will treat them accordingly if that happens.
- 4 years ago@Schaapje1987 There is alot of people are deaf like me
