Adjustments to running, possibly add a short dash / dart action
One of the issues I have found with running in apex is the lack of blending that occurs between being stationary and running.
Note: the following mainly affects console players. Unsure of PC.
If I am in a gunfight and I accidentally or purposely run forward a bit, the gun goes down into an unusable state.
This is extremely bad, and especially when in a gun fight and you are trying to maintain maximum control over a character and all of a sudden a movement animation starts playing when you are attempting to pull the trigger on an enemy.
The full animation of the gun going into an unusable state should have an extra stage.
When the player hits the run button, the gun should go down slightly for a brief moment, as if it was slightly at rest but still able to pull up and forward and shoot.
Then when the player continues the animation for more than a frame or two (or whatever necessary duration), the full run animation plays.
This would do two things:
1) Give players a short dash forward in gunplay, allowing them to close distance quickly for closer range fights.
2) Prevent players from accidentally running and then being unable to fire their weapons because there is no animation canceling.
It is never wrong to give the players more control over their actions, and this would not only fix an existing issue of suddenly losing control over your gun when you run but provide a high level combat action to close the distance between players and open fire. Or even allow players to dart out of the way rapidly around a corner.
