Aim Assist Is disruptive for console

https://giant.gfycat.com/UnluckyFrequentGander.mp4https://giant.gfycat.com/QualifiedVillainousArgentineruddyduck.mp4

I , like a lot of players, come across issues, and find the default settings clunky with a lack of ways to adjust the x:y axis individually.

I've played this game for almost a year a withhwith ovetcover 110h+ daysadays ogiof game time. Using ALC has seemed to really mitigate my problems except for when I  have to deal with targets under 20m or so., the  aim assist drag field is so disruptive and wide  it makes tracking and turning around a nightmare.

If there was a setting to adjust the strength or   more options added to the default settings this would be helpful

As you can see from these gifs, the field is ridiculously large, and slow which requires completely different inputs than what my actual settings are.

Instead of assisting with The shortcomings of controller  aiming, It exacerbates them.

Years of console FPS games  trains players to visually pick up  on changes in reticle behavior to  decipher when they are on target. Apex legends has a noticeable amount of visual clutter as, and when players rely on other visual queues  it becomes even more disruptive.

  • Yeah I have the same issues. When people get within a certain distance its like im stuck in glue. Ive tried every controller setting to try to help, it just doesn't work. I have to try to stay at a distance from people which is sometimes impossible.

It's absolutely terrible within melee range. If they run behind me I can't turn around and adjust my aim quick enough because it feels like my sensitivity went down to 1 on the turn. It gets me killed in fights that were easily winnable. Whatever version of target compensation is active right now wants you to stay medium to long range.

It didn't always feel like this though. Before about the end of Season 2 timeframe it was great. But something changed near the end of Season 2/Beginning of 3.

It is a let down, because I've been working hard to improve and  always felt like I was playing a steep incline. I have thousands of hours of muscle memory built using ALC. and never could Google it there soon assist because it's so inconsistent

You are correct they did do something to console aim assist as well as the weapons. Unfortunately the final result is that due to the recoil being randomized it exacerbates the problem between the two.
