@Tspin I'm assuming this is a reply to me but I'm not sure since parts of your reply mentions things I haven't said. Like having a conflict with stats or science when I've only said I'm skeptical of biased opinions. If that part had nothing to do with me then my bad.
Equal time investment won't equal the same results agreed. The consensus opinion is that close range favors controllers partially because of AA while M/KB have the advantage at range. Your last line seems to disagree with that logic but I have no interest in contending with that since that wasn't my original point.
AA is faster than human reaction speed which is why I said its technically a correct statement but meaningless. Anything the game does autonomously is faster than human reaction speed including telling the player when they've taken damage. My problem is that you seem to be grossly exaggerating what Aim Assist can do. There's a world of difference between a gentle slow effect when nearing a target and bouncing your aim to match your target while the player does nothing. I've seen the former not the latter and failed to replicate that effect while fighting against dummies or players.
- (if anything allows such a feat obviously I'm in favor of ripping that out of the game but I don't experience it.)
Aim Assist isn't affected by visual or audio clutter but the player is. The more control you have over your accuracy the more they affect you which is why I'm not surprised this is a bigger issue for M/KB. Anything that obscures vision is still an issue for the player regardless of AA but it hurts M/KB more since they have more control. If this works like any older (or probably current) Call of Duty game then the slight pull of AA is enough to give an experience player an idea of where you are so that's another slight advantage. AA won't track a player through smoke/flashes/foliage on it's own though so don't overstate the advantage.
The flash of the Lstar is distracting but dear god the visual recoil of Gibraltar firing a wingman is disorienting. I stopped using it in Season 1 when it looked like the gun bounced one way, the arm shield bounced another, but the actual shot didn't seem aligned with recoil.
My only complaint is with the exaggeration of what Aim Assist can do (which might be do to the differences in values for AA for each system / the performances of the systems themselves / various cheats / or performances on various settings which I refuse to tweak now.)
Heck I'm in favor of separate lobbies. I don't want to see the BS accuracy of a mouse at range and have no idea why anyone would prefer a controller on PC. Eliminate AA on PC and move on in my opinion.
1. 4a) Aim assist does not align with competitive integrity, inputs with aim assist do not even need to predict which way enemies strafe
2. 4a) Aim assist ignores visual and audio clutter
3. Aim assist ignores mental and physical fatigue that inputs without aim assistance are subject too
4. Aim assistance is literal software and has perfect tracking and inhuman 0ms reaction time
5. 3a) Aim assistance makes professional players feel like they would hate their lives if they had continued to play mouse and key. Controller is so strong because of aim assist that players are forced to swap inputs to stay competitive and keep what’s left of their sanity
6. 1a) “D” tier controller players are better than “S” tier mouse and keyboard players because of aim assistance
7. 1a) At 58:40 the group talks about how over tuned aim-assist is in Apex Legends

10. Aim assist gives way to much value and pro leagues are no long scouting mnk players for new roster additions.

@Tspin Points 1-4 are virtually the same. I don't expect game features to disappear just because a leaf fell into the player's point of view or because the player needs a nap. Drunk or fully sober I expect the game to function the same even if the player's performance drops off dramatically.
Reason #3 is also why I kept saying your points are technically true but meaningless. If you're directly stating that AA works even if the player is tired then that's true... every feature of the game continues to work regardless of the player's condition 100% true. If you're saying that the player's performance doesn't change whether he's tired or well rested then that's BS.
Conflating the ability of Aim Assist to the player's ability blurs the line of truth to me which is annoying. Seems like you're implying controllers have perfect accuracy even when exhausted and blinded by trees/smoke.
My one and only annoyance is the exaggeration of the abilities of AA. There have been various videos put forward on how AA works on dummies and they have looked drastically different. Since regular controller players don't experience AA to the level of strength that PC describes and test videos don't agree with eachother it's easy to dismiss the argument.
Could also just be a difference in the class of player we're talking about but low level players don't track well and even good players still need to predict movement.

If you watch the broadcast of progamers playing rank mode on the Tokyo server, you can see cheaters cheating with converters very easily.
Even in casual mode, it's very easy to see cheaters bullying normal players with converters...
As time goes by, many people playing on the Tokyo server are bound to be negative about AA. - 3 years ago@Zamaha400 Watch the videos in the links. The best coach in the world is giving his honest opinions, the best player in the world is giving his honest opinions, professional players all know how broken aim assistance is. Everybody in the world agrees aim assistance is extremely over tuned. You’re a flat earth believer too I bet.
