O ya with the controls, if i have the advanced setting turned on, it changes everything i like. For example it changes the curve, deadzone, speed (X,Y). Without knowing what numbers i need to set these to. If i tried to test it with aim assist off, i wouldn't be able to as i can't play with advanced on lol.
I'm one of those people that setup everything before i start a game. Music off, screen movement off, voice lines, deadzone (controller), auto run, all graphical settings low or off, motion blur (off), FOV max, 2560 x 1440 res. My controller settings also had to be changed so i can crouch with right thumb stick (Battlefield Player).
So after i couldn't find a way of getting my settings the same with aim assist off, i played a few games anyway. I lost my first 2 games. 3rd game was a win with 1400 damage. It's not rare to get that with mouse, but i noticed that my team was very far from my damage. They had 400 give or take each.
My 4th game was even more with 2400+. I was using an R99 and Triple Take. For taking long shots i didn't notice any aim assist past 400 feet or so. Close range shots though with a triple take were so easy it's crazy. I didn't have to think, just pull shoot.
The R99 was like a little theme park ride. You pull, lock on, and just let it take you on a ride. Mostly this ride is you just beaming someones chest. So ya, people like me, that setup the game with with low graphical settings to try and max FPS with low textures no AA etc can be a nightmare with a controller.
It seemed like i could aim just fine. I was blood in one game and a bang smoked me so i used my ult. I could aim just fine, but i'll have to dig deeper on that one. So smoke or gas seemed to work just fine with aim assist, but i will have to test that more.
WIth the kill leaders part, what i mean is the people that have the most kills. Not like kill leaders of a match, my bad. Like some controller people have 45k kills for just one legend. Most controller players just have high kill counts in total.
@Popa2caps Lol still playing that broken record I see... Aim assist is not as strong as you make it out to be.

True story whether you believe it or not this is true:
I play most of my games of APEX with my 2 sons...Younger one is 6 years old (yes 6 years not 16) and the older one is 9...THEY BOTH PLAY ON PC WITH XBOX ONE CONTROLLERS and I play with keyboard and mouse.
MY 6 YEAR OLD'S HIGHEST KILL GAME = 12 KILLS
MY 9 YEAR OLD'S HIGHEST KILL GAME = 11 KILLS
And neither of these were freak games as long as they get a decent start they are hard to kill
My 9 year old who's fav character is Pathfinder, has 1600 kills with Pathfinder and he hardly plays Apex!!! Especially nowadays since season 5, he hardly plays at all...
Both of my sons are great at Fortnite and Apex but very sketchy in anything like CS-GO etc.
My 6 year old can rake me down with a R99 in Firing Range 1v1, and yes I predict you thinking: "well you must suck if that's the case???"
-Remembering we play PC and my sons play PC with xbox one controllers- they take joy in chasing down teams with Rank jumptrails and they very often succeed in wiping whole squads including Predators (unbelievably especially my 6 year old in close quarters). Now as much as I love my children I know this is not 100% their skills something else is at work here otherwise they would be owning in any FPS but they don't get tons of kills in even CoD online deathmatches and the older one can only manage 16 kills in a CS-GO deathmatch with negative k/d ratio??? They're decent in Overwatch but not overwhelming.
Their average hit time on a random on screen (location) target (pop-up) from central start is 0.9 secs over 60 targets...Mine is 0.4 over 60 targets yet I can't take down squads of Predators and I have seen my sons do it a few times...Things like flick-shots, no scoping, "NON-BURST" firing at medium range with R99 (consistently hitting) are all things they get spot on??? But seemingly only excessively in APEX and FORTNITE...
So now I'm waiting for the explanation?

Ditto- @MoNosDirtyGaming The problem is that it really is that strong. Especially for close combat. It's as simple as 'hold the analog stick slightly down' to fully remove recoil, because aim assist takes care of the rest of the aiming process.

Aim assist makes people, and largely younger people who aren't good with keyboards/mice, who haven't put in much if any practice with keyboard/mouse, feel like aiming gods.
This makes those people want to keep playing for the easy endorphin dump they get when they Lazer down people thanks to aim assist.
This creates an artificial skill floor that's instantly competing with average-good keyboard/mouse players.
FortNite was geared this way to basically get children addicted to the endorphin dump
from feeling skilled and powerful only thanks to aim assist.
As powerful as Aim Assist is on PC, the average skill player will either get on board to abuse it, or get sick of being outclassed to this high skill floor, and leave frustrated to another game.@4ccbf460f7b926b1Funny, I actually tried the technique mentioned in the video and it didn't even do exactly what he said, so no, it is not OP as you think. Pro players learn recoil control and that is why their aim is so good.
Please do not compare fortnite to apex, they are 2 completely different games. In fortnite you could snap to the targets head by aiming in and out to abuse aim assist, in apex you cannot. Fortnite is based off RNG, apex is based off gunskill. You act like you can't just move your mouse downwards and do the EXACT SAME THING on PC. I don't know how many times I have to reitterate the same BS but I will do it time and time again until you understand that all moving R3/Mouse downwards does is remove the recoil, it still forces your aim to move left and right to follow the guns pattern.

I will repeat it as well.
Aim Assist gives you Lazer precision aim in close combat with incredibly easy recoil removal, with powerful tracking.
It removes the need to compensate for recoil 'and' aim. You just slightly hold the stick down, and aim assist does the rest.
And furthermore, if my stats are bad, then you're proving my point.
I'm not an aiming master, never claimed to be.
Apex's matchmaking pissed off streamers because it gave them more equal fights they couldn't just roflstomp their way through.
So I should be against people of my own 'bad' skill level, and yet I'm getting put against people who don't miss any shots.
So obviously these other 'bad players' have some advantage.
I don't think they're installing third party aim bots, so the reasonable answer is aim assist and controllers, giving 'bad players' as you're implying, Lazer precision aim. Ok a basic question then as it's BS according to you:
Say I use an emulator tricking the pc into thinking my mouse and keyboard is a controller...

Something like integration of an auto aim feature on pc is a contributor to why this beautiful game is now almost outside of the top 10 most played pc games...Still above Fortnite though ;-) But nowhere near the likes of CS-GO or R6-Siege :-( APEX deserves to be at the top! Everything bar the human integration/side of this game is so well done/implemented/enjoyed...Us players are contributing to (not necessarily causing) the downfall of this game and it deserves better
And stating that Apex is completely different from Fortnite is naive 😃 Yes the general feel and look might differ but he core is the core...you aim and shoot so they are very much competitors in the same class of game?
My 2 sons play both Fortnite and Apex and they are well... very good at both games aged 6 and 9...yes 6 and 9...And when I asked them to demonstrate 'aim compensation' in both games...Let's just say I would love for you to go and actually see the differences demonstrated to you by someone who actually understands how to implement/use them then come back here and tell me exactly how different they are 😃
The most annoying thing is (coming from an old-school FPS gamer) a FLICK-SHOT! Now have you ever seen a kid who is 9 years old on Diamond tier demonstrate to you what the advantages of a controller is over a m + k ? Raw unbiased -straight to the pros and *- 9 year old input as to why he would stick with his xbox one controller over a m + k sorry dad but it's not going to happen 😃
My 9 year old can manage 4 to 5 kills in Ranked on m+k quite regularly...BUT he can manage 8 to 10 kills on a controller in Ranked quite regularly to, both on PC, so where's the logic?
And don't give me that BS that it's not a big advantage what are you smoking man!? No it does not snap but what it does in the hands of someone who knows how to use it is devastating!!!

No wonder he doesn't understand. There's a massive difference between console and PC aim assist.
Consoles can keep their aim assist as is, or make it stronger, doesn't matter to me either way.
PC is intended to be keyboard/mouse, and it shouldn't give massive advantages to other input options. - @ooG0R3oo Agreed!

So that entire paragraph you tried to justify that it isn't your aim because you're getting lazered? Ever wondered if it was the garbage gun balancing? Or if its because of your movement? Once again it DOES NOT track for you, the clip at the end which Popa posted, his first down with the flatline was exactly how recoil is, its practically inexistent at close range, just like ALL the other guns in the game except for guns like the havoc. Maybe its from people making smurf accounts too so they don't have to go against sweaty people 24/7. [Removed by CM]I know I am hammering on a subject that does not seem to be a big issue to a vast majority, but I have played a lot of FPS titles at high level for over 20 years against a lot of pro gamers and I can instantly feel when something is off :-( And the aiming in APEX is just not right and it puts you in a position of almost distrust when playing the game as to whether the next guy you come in to contact with has got an unfair advantage or not and just that subconscious thought lets you stray and mostly mess up badly!
I mention FortNite again reason being my kids played it a lot and I played with them sometimes for fun but Fortnite introduced bots and that changed my 9 and 6 year old's mentality regarding the purpose of playing a lot as then again, in hind sight, you question is it a bot or human player so why don't I just go play Ghost Recon Wildlands and cause havoc against well...bots?
I would love to see an actual law come out forcing game developers to state whether the input in a game is 'TRUE' or 'ASSISTED' as I feel at the end of the day the amount of our 'life hours' and money we invest in playing games I find it unfair being lied to and cheated hence wasting our time and money thinking it's fair and just, when actually we are playing 'boosted' opponents in unfair situations biased towards a certain 'control scheme' for apparent balancing acts.
The aim assist is unfair and I know it because if my 9 year old can demonstrate to me undoubtedly what the advantage is if you figure out how to properly utilize it, just imagine what a pro is capable of!?
Input should be RAW as I feel any unfair advantage given to only a section of players in a game that is supposed to be fit for competition grade/standard, then I don't want to play it anymore and I feel a full refund of all money spent should be made to anyone who feels an unfair advantage has been given to certain players by the developer hence rendering the game false and unplayable! The sad thing is I love this game and don't want it to ever fail :-( But I can't play it in a state like this it's an unfair playing field...

- @ooG0R3oo This can be explained by a factor of things, we're the enemy weak? Are your sons more talented than you think? Pathfinder was bugged for the longest time with numerous issues, i.e in existent hit box, easy to dodge bullets, and now currently impossible to hear his footsteps after his grapple nerf.
As for you thinking they should be getting kills in other games, this games movement is similar to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, why? Because some of the developers from activision went over to Respawn. Overwatch has stronger aim assist than Apex, CS:GO is like playing hardcore TDM.
Aim assist reduces the speed of your gun when you are near an enemy, which is why it is explainable for them to be able to hit flick shots, Guns don't have any recoil whatsoever at close range when you're in front of someones face with a sniper. The R99, even in its current state right now it will hit every single target, especially if you crouch and shoot with it, it is basically what the wingman used to do. The R99 has always been broken like this and will most likely continue to be so.
I've explained this to the other 2 but it literally falls on deaf ears but I hope you understand, with fortnite you can lock on your target with aim assist by aiming and it clips to their head, you can't on apex, clearly they're very strong features in both games. But what these other 2 FAIL to understand is that if you move R3 down 1-2 inches, that is controlling recoil, if you turn R3 left and right, you miss 90% of your shots unless you're really close. It's not an exploit, it's not a secret, they just want it nerfed because they're horrible at the game. If console had a raw input without the slowed down aim assist when they were going to shoot someone, they would indeed struggle more than they are. You should give your children more credit. @ooG0R3ooYawn, let me see, 17.5k kills, 3.17kd, wraith main with almost 10k kills on her, 4k damage badge, 20 kills badge, so clearly I do use my controller a lot and know what i'm talking about. Don't insult my intelligence. Aim assist is different to console and PC, as you stated MANY TIMES there is RAW INPUT from a mouse, so they already NOTICED this would be an issue when they were releasing the game and they originally reduced the smoothness of aim assist on PC when they launched the game.
Your pathetic attempts at explaining how aim assist is 'OP' is nothing more than just you aiming at the enemies body which is less than 2 feet away and wondering why you're hitting all your shots on his body. If I pull out a piece of plank, stick it on my desk and say this is my new input device are they going to put full auto aim in for me then because my input is inferior hence needs assistance? A controller should not be able to challenge a m+k bottom line I don't care the reason! If it's fake then it's fake! If it's assisted then it's assisted! No excuses should be made! controller aiming is fake bottom line so why should anyone just accept that it's ok playing against players with fake/assisted aim? I don't care what happens on a console as it's all the same input devices so the same rules apply to all players but when unfair aim assistance gets forced into a interface purely because people are playing the wrong input then I feel that should be banned because that screams for exploiting!

And yes I get it they see it as balancing skill but you don't strap a rocket pack to a guy's back running against Usain Bolt in an official race just because he's slower, to equal it out, do you? There's no point in responding to you anymore, you're a console player, this is a PC discussion. And the facts have already been clearly laid out.
Not to mention you just said controller on PC is less smooth, after seeing video evidence of increased aim assist on PC.
If you'd like to discuss specific points, feel free to provide video, or specific discussions. Otherwise I'm not going to humor your immature rank/skill insults because they're moot. - @ooG0R3oo @ooG0R3oo People play Controller on m&k because they prefer the higher FOV and better graphics, I have a custom gaming PC, I would still choose to use a controller over M&K because that is what i'm used to. Also because their friends are on that particular platform and cross play is not enabled currently.
- @Popa2caps lol Why would I be biased.. aim assist is not as OP as you think, you're just taking it way out of proportion like a 10 year old child who throws a tantrum because his lollipop fell on the floor. If I insulted people like you said I did, trust me they would know about it. If you feel I have not been 'civil', then you sir, need to go outside and remember there's an entire universe out there to explore. The reason you feel that way is because you've been sat inside all day everyday and thus end up 'feeling' texts and that is why it offends you. If you still feel offended for whatever reason, there is a report button and I'm sure a moderator would be more than happy to take a look at my threads and remove anything that they deem inappropriate.
Just in case I haven't mentioned it already, I play on PC from time to time too.
If you're gonna say a joke, at least make it funny. FYI, motion blur is a thing of the past and most modern games have an option to remove motion blur. Or I could just turn on my custom built gaming PC which I put 4,500 pounds into and play games on there.
