I have just read through this whole post and as an 'almost' level 400 player I am sorry to say but I have had enough of this great game :-(
I play a lot of FPS games, and I have since I was around 12 years old (35 now). I have played a lot of old school tournaments in games like Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, Quake and more against a lot of well respected international gamers, and I was very successful winning a lot of prizes but today's era of FPS game(s) has unfortunately become bad to a sense that they are a waste of time to play :-(
Say what you want on the matter but I say this not seeking sympathy for the 10's of thousands (possibly even 100's) of hours of my life that I have dedicated to a genre of games that I truly loved (before Youtube streaming existed :-p , but am now unfortunately getting to a point where I feel like it's pointless to play something that I love because it's fake...Game companies have lost the heart and love for what they do and I get it.... it's about money...Without money they can't do what they do or make what they make as the top guys demand financial return...
TO ACHIEVE A HIGHER GROSS TURNOVER THE AIM IS PLAYER SATISFACTION...
And by making everyone feel like they have a chance, or are decent players, they keep you on the edge of thinking you are capable of winning...maybe the next game...And by implementing mechanics like auto aim and plain pure higher luck ratios they achieve exactly what they want...majority player satisfaction
Unfortunately a lot of successful gamers nowadays are successful because they have fine tuned the game rather than the skill and they have sapped and implemented almost every single exploit that gives them an advantage in a certain game hence why a pro in one shooter (nowadays) would be no good in another, YET WHEN I DEDICATED MY LIFE TO FPS GAMES I WAS GOOD AT ANYTHING YOU THREW AT ME THAT WAS A WELL BUILT FPS...Quake , Unreal , Half-Life I was equally skilled in all...
AND THE REASON FOR THE ABOVE IS OBVIOUS : If it was down to pure raw skill/ability (aiming with a mouse and keyboard) then 95% of players would not bother playing as the same people will always win, so they introduced Battle Royale...Genius in defeating the pro aimer's dominance as luck of loot played a massive role in the genre in more aspects than imaginable...then they brought in auto aim (via or for reasoning of crossplay mostly)...to balance casual (controller) player with mouse + keyboard player...Taking in to consideration that the gaming industry makes almost all it's revenue from casual players NOT pros the biggest obstacle for the industry was to get balance and keep the casual player there playing even when the pro plays to
I remember a time when I played a bit of Battlefield 3 a few years back and I would have 140 kills and the second highest player would have 60...Nice for me but the other 29 (I think) players my team and opposing would quit systematically and it was honestly not fun as I then realized I was ruining the fun everyone else was having by playing a server I liked over and over I basically ruined it
WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS:
EVERYTHING IN LIFE (ESPECIALLY FOR PROFIT) CATERS FOR THE MASSES THAT BRING IN THE MONEY
THE HANDFUL OF PEOPLE WHO GET ANNOYED BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT'S UNFAIR DOESN'T MATTER SADLY
In every single game of Apex I play there are a lot of players who aim like pros...everyone can suddenly hit consistently from 100m or even 200m away...Only pros aim like pros so now suddenly we have a game where everyone is a pro...SUCCESS FOR APEX they have made all their players pros...until their players go play CS-GO or R6 Siege and realize it was a big fat fake lie
Fortnite introduced bots to make everyone feel like they are good players and give that sense of success/achievement...So ask yourself what Apex does to give that same fictional satisfaction?
Either find a way to convince the developers to make the aiming RAW INPUT not fake (should be a law in games) or make peace with the fact that this game (and a few others) is making everyone feel like a pro because it makes it successful (and keeps the money flowing)...and good luck with that :-p
Count the amount of people active on the Forums by merely scanning replies per topic...Millions of Apex players yet some fair topics only have 3 people interested enough to even just reply...Millions of customers and a handful of complaints...You get the picture? I hate a lot of very easily fixable things about this great game but I am starting to make peace with the idea/concept that some games will just never be what you want them to be because money is a massive factor to consider...fair or unfair as it may be, pleasing the masses makes sense in any industry :-(
