All of the events need to have everything available for free as well

I myself am not a big spender on Apex, but I'm ok with EA charging this much for their heirlooms. I feel like they were more intended for the players who were more invested in the game and is an excellent way to reward these particular high spending players with a truely legendary cosmetic. Remember, Apex is still a true free to play, these are purely cosmetics.

Not everything needs to be free but im depressed you cant even earn a single free loot box this event its sad should atleast give a free loot box if you finish ALL Event challenges, and maybe one for free on halloween night to get everyone into the spooky spirit, thats only 2 boxes out ot 24 possible items... they can still make more than enough money its just sad to think about and i really dont want to play anymore just gonna finish event challenges and find something else to play

Choose:

Free heirlooms and limited editions cosmetics for everyone --> Respawn earns far less money --> can't pay much for employees --> no more employees = no more updates, ever --> servers getting closed down --> dead game --> game removed from market.

OR

Just deal with it and get a few free packs every season, and eventually even get a heirloom.

Hope this gives you an idea of why they can't make everything free. Also, they're just cosmetics. They don't give you ANY extra power or anything at all. It's your choice that you spent 400$ on a heirloom, not theirs.

But I do agree with one thing. It's kind of sad that they don't even give a single free pack for the Fight or Fright event. We got 2 free ones with the Iron Crown event, so why not this time? But I don't really cares because I dislike all the Fight or Fright skins anyway.
