Allow sandbox shenanigans in private lobbies (a strange request)
I've been playing Apex since 2020, but for the last 2-3 years, I've mostly only played one mode. It's admittedly niche, but hear me out.
I co-lead a private Discord server for IRL friends who play Apex, and every Friday night 8-12 of us play TDM in a private lobby. The entire crew joins the same Discord voice chat, as our goal is to recreate the nostalgic feeling of sitting in a living room together and trash-talking each other while playing something like Halo or Goldeneye. It's a ton of fun, and the vibes are infectious for our crew of dads and 9-5ers.
I recognize that this is not how most people play Apex, but there are a few low-hanging fruit tweaks I'd love to see in TDM/private lobbies.
In short, I'm simply requesting more customization options in private lobbies. Let us be silly and break the game a bit. We're adults, trust us to know we're stepping outside of "best practices" for the sake of fun.
For example, it would be amazing to be able to...
- Fill an entire lobby of Mirages (allow repeat characters, like in Wildcard)
- Unleash prowlers, sentries, or other PvE/PvPvE elements
- Access maps beyond typical TDM (like the Control maps, or the many amazing Arenas maps no longer being used, or really just Party Crasher over and over)
- Play without teams (every person for themselves)
- Remove player minimums (1:1 or 2:2 would be fun)
- Adjust shield, health, and grenade amounts
- Adjust match length and score cap
And if none of those are possible... at a minimum, please let us see post-match scoreboards in TDM! We don't just want to know which team won, but also how many kills we all got. Let us brag and dunk on our friends.
I know there are unofficial mod options for PCs, but most of the people in our crew play on console, so those aren't available to us. We need options built into the game.
Please let us have a little more fun and freedom in private TDM lobbies! Thank you.
