For me they demonstrate their contempt by being both unable and unwilling to deal with various aspects of the cheating problem. Which creates a matchmaking nightmare. Then suddenly the real game no longer has anything to do with game sense or gun skills or teamwork. The game becomes trying to find ways to beat the matchmaker. Trying to fool it into giving me what I want instead of what the streamers want. Bots looked like being that thing and then this season's update allowed the streamers to run riot through what was supposed to be the one place in this hell hole of a game where you could get away from them for five minutes. That, to me, was nothing short of a betrayal. I don't know any other way to describe it.
I guess this game really does belong to a handful of top-tier players living on their secondaries. The rest of us exist for their pleasure. Respawn will never understand this, and that means there will never be anything done to address it. We either figure out ways to exist in the hostility or we go to other games. I've tried the latter just lately, and I never would have believed it but Marathon is even worse. I can't understand what keeps people playing that trash game. I hope it ends Bungie and drags Sony into bankruptcy.

That is exactly how it feels, like you said, game sense, gun skills, teamwork are not even a factor anymore.
And I agree also with what happened to the bot royale. I quite enjoyed it, it was nice place to go and have some fun for a change without feeling like garbage and getting T-bagged by a pro after he boxes me in a millisecond. Now its just as bad as pubs and ranked, and a few times the experience was actually worse.
The only thing I really like about the new bot mode is sorely that its full map now with full numbers. Other than that, It is exactly what you said , a "betrayal" - like the pros and streamers didn't have enough area to beat up the meek. They already have pubs and ranked, some would argue, even wildcard (dunno, i will never play that trash mode) but bot royale too!?
Like you said, this game belongs to a tiny fraction of the player base. The rest of us normies sitting in Gold and down to bronze are there strictly to stroke the egos of the elite at the top yet Respawn wants us to spend money in the cosmetic store while they spit on us at the same time! WTF!
I wonder how good and far I could get on the grind if the majority of my opponents were far below my skill level.
Like someone said on this forum before, - how meaningful is the pred badge if you didn't have to face your equals to receive it? Does it mean anything at this point?
