For as long as I can remember across my two accounts. And playing at friends. I have enjoyed pubs I have 5000+ hrs . The SBMM IN PUBS has made this game NOT FUN . I agree ranked should be difficult but having pubs just as hard is ranked is beyond stupid . For the first time in a long time I cannot stomach playing pubs for more than 20 minutes. Just like destiny one lost all their players because they changed everything and couldn’t get them back. That’s the road you’re going down. Once people quit and find new things they won’t come back or very few will. this season I’m done. Will I ever come back? I don’t know but this is terrible. I enjoyed last season more.

Or you are a higher-skilled player who, in a loose sbmm environment, will get more than their fair share of kills and wins in the name of a "relaxed" atmosphere. Relaxed for who? You or the level 25 new guys you're rolling over? There's no reason, in any playlist, in any game, for sbmm to be anything other than tight. If you need to relax then go to the firing range or play candy crush.

I also have 3500+ hours on apex and have enjoyed pubs every season of the game and have always come back to play almost daily for 4 years. This season has been the most unenjoyable experience for me in pubs. However the new sbmm system works, it definitely creates more tightly matched lobbies in terms of skill level. But is that a good thing for player retention or not? A lot of people that play this game will have days when they want to come online and play in a less intense environment (pubs) and then other days when they are more focused and want to challenge themselves in ranked against people of a similar skill level. So why should players have to come online and play in lobbies where everyone is their skill level, even in pubs? It makes every match play at a much higher intensity, which means a lot less success for your average player and a lot more people wanting to leave the game. Fun isn't necessary measured by success, but when you have many unsuccessful games in a row, all the fun is sucked away and many people lose the motivation to even play another match, because they know the next game will feel just as difficult. Personally i used to be able to come online and play this game solo for 4-5 hours at a time, but this season (Season 18) i have found myself closing the game after 1 hour most days and playing something else. I can't see myself ever playing the game as passionately as I once did unless these sbmm changes are reverted, or are changed in order to make the pubs experience more enjoyable. Ranked is where we need to be placed against people of our skill level, pubs needs to be random pools of different skill levels so the matches vary in intensity. This will make for a much more enjoyable pubs experience, because whatever we have right now is not it.

But then a lot of people would never win and that cannot happen in 2023 you are not supposed to win because you are the best in the lobby you are supposed to win by prealligned factors that ensures you get motivated from time to time

@blackeyeriver Main issue is that people expect mm to be fair and no matter how much resources they put into any kind of system, it will never be fair.

They only way to make it truely fair is by removing all kind of systems and make it random. Everyone would get the better teammates and so on by chance then. But then a lot of people would never win and that cannot happen in 2023 you are not supposed to win because you are the best in the lobby you are supposed to win by prealligned factors that ensures you get motivated from time to time

I don’t mention cheaters cause there’s nothing I can do about it . also I can’t know most people are cheaters beyond a reasonable doubt. Everytime I die I just can’t yell cheater line some people I hear with an open mic in pubs . Cheater’s have been around for years. This Un fun experience of pubs has not . I can already tell that most people that kill you you claim is cheating because you assume you’re a deflector . I’m just like you’re telling me I have so many hours and I should know this that and the other and I probably don’t you’re assuming. There’s one simple, easy statement. PUBS ARE NO LONGER FUN THIS SEASON……

sbmm & mmr should never exist in an unfair matchmaking like apex where 3stacks and solo are in the same lobbies , idk how you can work as a dev and miss that.

@blackeyeriver I remember when Apex didn’t have SBMM or was more random and I could carry random players to a win. Once a young kid praised me after we won and he was soooo happy. He wasn’t good, but he had the right spirit. These days those kind of things never happen anymore, all my enemies are basically high rank/pro players and my teammates are usually ok but not good enough to win against anyone higher ranked than Diamond. Carrying against random teams of all skill sets was doable, carrying against stacks of Master/Pred/Pro players is impossible.

@blackeyeriver Only 1 out of 20 teams will win which means 5% of players will win which means 95% of all players will lose. So having a 5% win rate means you play against similar skill.. if you have a 20% win rate it means you play against lower skilled players.

Same with 1400hrs from S7 to S12.
But problem is that I keep coming back nowadays because there is no other BR game to play...
They are all so trash nowadays... Wish we had first seasons of WZ1 back when the game was fun.
Thats why Apex has so many cheaters nowadays,
there is just nothing else to play.
If you dont count PUBG with its horrible servers,
which always have 1-3 seconds D-sync for some reason.

@EPS1234 I don't understand why every game does this, they change the core substance of games, it is like it is put into a system. Maybe they want us to quit because they gonna launch a new game they want us to play? Well I don't see any new game from their side so the only option must be they all want us to play any other game that is not EA published
