Apex legends concern/ suggestion

I'm not the best at Apex legends or close range combat but I'm a team player and take pride in the creative ways I recover my teammates banner.
I recently had a game where a teammate died in the house near me. One of his gas traps was in my house and I set it off and also used my smoke screen to make it seem like there was fighting in the house I was in. My plan worked, as I was leaving the house I saw the enemy squad entering through the opposite door. I went to the house where my teammate died, picked up his banner - full "got my squad mates banner" animation and everything and..... HE/ OR SHE LEFT AS I HAD THEIR BANNER IN MY HAND. Now I had been dealing with teammates leaving before but that one really had me triggered 😡
Today I was in a match where one of my teammates died in skull town, I was on my way to get his/or her banner and they left so i was like what ever. A few minutes later my lifeline teammate died. I manage to get his/her banner, almost die in the processes, and ran away in such a manner where I believe i tricked the team chasing me into thinking I was gong to one respawn beacon but then maneuvered to the one in thunderdome. After I respawned my teammate i kid you not, he/ she just ran backwards in circles till we got top 5 then left the match. I was confused as to why they didn't pick up any gun or armor, but after they left the match after we got top 5 I was triggered 😡 . I went on to make it to the last two squads but lost. What am I suppose to do 1 on 3 , I'm no John Wick
This isn't the first time I've made it to the last two squads where it's like if my teammates hadn't left maybe I would have won.
My suggestion is, can you please make harsher leaving penalties. Please and thank you
I also want to say I really love how well balance apex legends is! As much as people like to say this legend is better than this ect. Any legend can beat another. I recently been training with Mirage and testing out his new invisibility which I have used to sneak up on enemies, and discovered something cool. I believe Wraith passive can sense Mirage while invisible, I also think Bloodhound tactical can pick up Mirage last location while he's invisible, WHICH IS AWESOME!!
