Apex Matchmaking is unbearable

Myself is a mid player with like 600-700hours into the game. Last split I was PLAT 2, after the split I lost 800rp. I constatnly match up against Preds and Masters. Ohh and what about my teammates? Ohh you mean the lvl 80 gibby guy who can't even shoot? This * is broken as hell, can't even play because these players are on the grind...

  • IMO, the main problem with the ranked matchmaking is that it:

    a) doesnt promote over-performing players nor demoting under-performing players, fast enough based on his INDIVIDUAL performance

    If a player is averaging 1000 dmg+, 4+ kills every match, then he is obviously too good for that rank. Get him out of there fast. And if you do 3-4000 dmg, then boost him 4-5 ranks up. If this fast-promotion is too much then he will quickly be demoted to the "correct" rank and no harm done. If a player is averaging 100 dmg, 0 kills every match, then he is obviously too bad for that rank. Get him out of there fast until he reaches a rank where he can do better. 


    And I am not talking single matches. Its about the trend. If you keep under-performing match after match with perhaps a 1/10 "good" game, then you SHOULD lose LP increasingly fast. The current system is so stupid where the loss is the same. In silver, you can go on losing match after match with 0-50 dmg dealt and only lose like 30 LP each game. But the 10th game, you are randomly getting a hard carry, ex-pred in your team and you will get carried to a win with a 400 LP gain anda ctually gained 100 LP haha. So stupid.

    b) allows premades of varying rank division.

    Currently, you are allowed to be bronze4 and premade with a gold1 or Diamond1 and premade with a Plat4. There is NO REASON why this should be allowed from a competative stand point. Premade duos is already an issue but at least, it will be less problematic if the premade duo was equally skilled and not one carry and one boosted, which is the case between bronze and Plat.


    Such system would eliminate:

    a) smurfing

    They get promoted towards their real rank faster. Imagine someone starting at Bronze4 and lands a 4000 dmg game with 20 kills and immediatly is promoted to gold4. His smurfing career will be so short its not even worth it.

    b) premade duoing where one good player is boosting a bad player, which usually includes smurfing

    since ranking is more individually based, the good player would soon out-rank the bad and they cant premade anymore. Anyhow, boosting is wrong from a competative stand point.

    c) Make lobbies of same rank more equal in terms of skills. 

    ofc the most important factor. Ive had random teammates in platinum who just wanna hide and avoid fights. Why? Because they KNOW their skills are so low that they wont win a single fight in plat. But yet, its possible for them to rank up by playing like this. Its not good from a competative stand point. Those players should NOT be there. They should be at the rank which corresponds to his skills.
