I can't comment on the server issues as I'm not a tech expert, but I'm taking the news of the potential EA acquisition/investment positively.

I have high hopes that the involvement of Silver Lake (a specialized technology investment firm) and Affinity Partners will lead to significant technical advancements and improved game development quality.
