Apex should keep solo mode. Permanently.
Solo mode has brought life to this game, in a ton of different ways.
Respawn's revenue and players counts are up significantly across the board, thus giving the devs more money and time to work on issues with the game.
Solo mode offers players a mode to showcase their talents as a player.
Players have the chance to play as individuals, not having to depend on already seasoned players carrying them, leaving literally no room to improve as a player.
Players no long have to wonder if there going to be matched with a good squad, a bad squad, or be left by themselves to fight teams of 3 because there so called teammates decided they just wanted to duo.
Players now have somewhere to train against real opponents, hone in on their skills as a player, and really get to know a legend in and out so they can incorporate that into team based play.
Players do not have to worry about being critized for their gameplay, or having to apologize for not being very skilled, considering it takes time and practice in any online shooter to increase your skill set as a player.
Players now have the freedom to try different weapons to see what best fits their play style, so they can incorporate that into team based play, without being critized by their squad.
Players now have the freedom to learn kings canyon, hot spots, good loot spots, best spots for them to drop in, and just generally getting to know the map better so they can incorporate that into team based play.
By not adding solo mode to apex, the game stays boring and has really nothing to offer but team based play. In essence the community will never grow, keeping it a small community of seasoned players that will run off any new players, simply because they are not good enough to compete in squads.
Adding solo mode will not only increase player base(already seen proof of this), it offers players a chance to really hone in on everything in this game before taking it to a competitive level with a squad.
I'll end with this. Solos mode will not split the community(I'm gaming on the ps4 platform and both modes are still an Instant que since release of the mode, showing no decline in interest for squads), however, it will bring in a whole new base of players that not only will compete in solo mode, but will eventually take their skills into squads to prove their worth as a teammate, in essence boosting player numbers in squads and solo modes, offering up much more variety in both player skill levels, and player strategies.
Thanks for reading my thoughts and reasons why this mode should stay.
