Seems like a lot of players struggle a lot and just insta-quit, they make basic gameplay mistakes, get downed way too easily. Is the game too balanced on a knifes edge and too difficult?I see you've added these tips at the loading screen... If data show a lot quit or play bad, I assume you try to help them with these tips.

@Ingeniekey Playing with randoms is the worst ☹️ the problem is that most of the players think - if Daltoosh/Aceu can jump there and kill everyone with a wingman, they can do it too. They jump at bad place and die almost instantly and of course leave the game because they are here for 4k and 20 kills badges not to play for the win 🙂 Ranked is the only solution and I mean ranked with FRIENDS, not with randoms.

I also think that implementing leaving penalties in public matches will reduce player retention.

@CCbathwater It is clear to all of us that this will pour a big bucket of hatred against them, but as we can see they don't really care. They have adapted with hatred for them and now despise it. People want SOLO mode? - nah they will not get it, they will hate us? - who cares, they will keep playing anyway. Time has shown that people continue to play, even when the game team makes fun of them. They will give you good teammates if they stop the SBMM but they will not do it, just yesterday I decided its time to stop playing silly games because a lot of good games are coming in the coming months and apex will get in the recycle bins of many players.

@E9ine_AC They already testing pubs penalties. Yesterday when I tried to leave the round as a jumpmaster, there was a message - you will receive a 10min penalty if you leave now.

@Ingeniekey Coming from other games where TTK is 1/2 or 1/3 of the TTK in Apex is a huge culture shock. Pros from every shooter have said "Apex takes real skill to play" because you can't just walk in with a certain gun and build like cod and gun down 3 people in a building. You need to use your brain and be smart about choosing fights, but some people just don't care for a game that requires more thought and practice.

Just my opinion tho. I used to be terrible at this game and it took work to get up to an average skill

@Ingeniekey There are NO easy multiplayer games. Even in game of marbles you will get wiped by somebody who already played it for several dozen hours. Main problem with apex is matchmaking and smurfs. Matchmaking tends keep noobs together, but 1/3 games they will be put with predators. Smurfs are also obnoxious. People are making new profiles just do get one stupid badges and ruin games for everything.
Also, funniest thing: Even I have LOT of hours in apex, matchmaking treats me as bot cos I have low accuracy cos my broken mice. it tends to put me with total noobs in arena, and not even I cant miss noobs that are standing still and shoot

@Solim66 Yes, they've been testing it for a while, it's more like a threatening message. It's obviously unsuccessful because you will receive penalty if you leave the game as jumpmaster only if you leave before landing. You receive a penalty if you leave pubs arenas (even if you are solo or duo against 3) so they don't really care if people leave the game.

@Srksii A problem with the Smurfs arose because those who thought they were strong players started playing against people of the same caliber as them when they turned on the SBMM, and they didn't like it. And there are many "I want an heirloom, but I don't have money for the game, so I will start new account and I will get it for free" type of players.

@TBTFWYes, streamers probably do affect the vanity or wannabes. I have thought about this interaction myself as well.
@E9ine_ACSo a solution is to penalize the K/D. The real K/D should be K/(D+L) and also have Stayer % also as an indipendent stat. "Stays 90% of the rounds." (Number of rounds stayed/Total rounds played)%. Maybe also on the banner a "stayer/leaver" bar that indicates how much of a stayer the player is. I want to be rewarded for staying with stats and other things, but the way the game is designed now; it simply dont care and thats a major game design flaw. The finishers doesnt really help on the leaving. Why sit and wait for someone to finish you. Its easier to just leave and not have to be humiliated. So the Respawn devs also want to rub it in the players face and almost force them to be inclined to leave from a psycological side.
@TBTFWIf its not even effective and as I also figured a scare tactic, they many want to allocate more resources into something heavier, but rewards for players that stay.
