Are auto-flagged suspensions overtuned?
Two days ago I recieved my second and apparently permanent suspension from Apex Legends.
They were in the right for suspending me, as I did use foul language in the textchat.
Situation was however rather scewed against me, as I was unable to use voice-chat at the time - reveiving a virtual pummeling of angry and very hateful comments over voice.
My account seems to have been automatically flagged for hateful conduct as I used a to most gamers very mellow insult - but it has since resulted in my permanent suspension from the game.
I fully understand having aan aggressive stance on hateful conduct, but the steps of escalation in seriousness is unimaginable, my first suspension was for 7 days. Which yes, is a very long but arguably deterring and aggressive enough to warrant serious shape-up from the recipiant of the verdict. Second step is *boom* permanently banned.
Cases like this are very likely to be misleading, as one can seemingly launch an absolute barrage of insults over voice-chat - whilst when responding through text-chat, the automatic flagging system immediately picks up on certain words or phrases and flags you for potential suspension.
Having spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing this game, and genuinely keeping a positive vibe in auto-filled teams this is heartbreaking, not to mention the hundreds of dollars sunk into a game I've come to love.
Needless to say I'm very regretful of my actions, but under the impression that one perhaps should be dealt a 30-day suspension as a 2nd infraction.
- Definitely understandable @wo0z, though I'm afraid they wouldn't be able to treat your account any differently than the others in this situation.
I do appreciate the feedback about the escalation there and we'll pass that along, though it won't affect things this time around.
