Arenas 2.0

After the social networking/matchmaking issues with this game is resolved I think the current Mixtape modes need to be merged into Arena modes

The Mixtape was cool when it was first introduced, but the hype fizzled out for me a long time ago. Some of my main issues is the lack of stat tracking and not being able to choose a preferred mode.

Current Game Modes:

In Control I don't like that after capturing A or C your team doesn't switch respawns as with a typical Domination mode. Basically, everyone respawns on their homebase then runs to B, and that's it. I don't like the homebase respawn setup in Control. It prevents players from moving around the entire map.

Team Deathmatch, Lockdown (when it was available), and Control are my preferred Mixtape modes.

Maps:

There are some decent Arenas maps, but some of the maps are misguided. For example, the Overflow map needs a rework. I don't understand why there is a slope on the side of the map. I think the slope needs to be removed and that side should be a replica of the other side which has better infrastructure.

Next up is Phase Runner. This map has a phase runner on one side and that's where players gravitate to even if the safe zone was on the opposite side. I think phase runners need to be on both sides for this map to function correctly. Move the infrastructure to the middle, maybe, from the side that currently doesn't have a phase runner.

Next up is Drop-Off. This map is probably the worst Arenas map. When playing Arenas on this map the safe zone is "always" on the same side where the main infrastructure is. Basically, only one side of this map is playable. I think the infrastructure needs to be replicated for the opposite side of this map as well. These maps don't have identical (or near identical) "side" infrastructure which causes players to gravitate to the more dominate side.

Next up is Thunderdome. This map looks great, but the "king of the hill" spot doesn't belong in Arenas. This map wasn't around when Arenas was in the game. I think without the KOTH spot this map would be great. I think the other dynamics of this map should be a blueprint for Arena maps. Overall, maps are not good unless players are traversing the whole thing, not just one "magnet" spot.

Party Crasher, Encore, Habitat_4 are good maps. Although, one side of Habitat has more infrastructure than the other. Basically, one side has less cover. I think a good Arenas map is one that shares similarities (or infrastructure) on each side so that players won't always gravitate to the stronger side. The whole map needs to be playable.

Arenas Format:

I think the 3v3 format does not work for Arena modes.

Maybe it could be 6v6 for casual modes and 5v5 for ranked modes. Players would need to be able to party up with up to 6 players. From there Arenas could have various modes: Team Deathmatch, Gun Run, Control (with no home bases), Lockdown/Hardpoint (underrated mode), Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag, Solos Deathmatch (12 man), etc. Arenas Ranked could consist of various modes (Control, Lockdown, Search and Destroy, etc.). There's so much that could be done to make Arenas work. Additionally, I don't like predetermined loadouts. I think players should always be able to play with their preferrable loadout, similar to COD.

I also think Apex would work well in an Overwatch type setup. It's wishful thinking.

Lastly, I want Apex to be a "state of the art" game. Everything I mention on this forum I believe will help you all achieve that status. Apex feels unfinished "overall" and I hope you all change that.
