You are absolutely correct. I can take a lmg with a lvl 3 mag, engage first, have them run around panicking, then have them engage me and drop me in a couple of shots. Two shots in a close range predicament from a longbow should break any shield no matter what. I feel like armour is way too exaggerated. If I have a lvl 1 shield and my opponent has a level three, and if I engage first with precise shots, I'm still more than likely to lose that "gun fight", it seems like it's more of a fight between shields than weapons. I had a gold shield run straight to me while I was shooting and hitting with heavy ammo, just for her to get to me and drop me before I could even swap weapons. I should never die first if I'm engaging first with multiple shots before you can get one out, whether your shot connects or not.
