Be Honest
I am just wondering how everyone honestly feels about the current state of apex, I know the current numbers are at a all time high but then I look at me not enjoying the game at all yet I am still pl...
Oh dear, you had to ask this question. And of course I have to answer.
Well, let me start out with what made me chose Apex Legends over the other Battle Royale games. And to put it short and simple, I heavily enjoyed the style and the different approach this game took on a popular genre. Having different characters available, each with their own set of abilities, strengths and weaknesses is one thing that made me chose this game over a game like Warzone where everyone starts out the same essentially. Additionally, we had a great set of unique weapons. The game plays in a futuristic time so having lasers or stuff like that is honestly great.
I was never into Battle Royale games and considered them 'over-hyped' back when I started in Season 4. I basically made a huge exception for Apex Legends and got into it rather fast. So it was kind of a nice change of pace to the regular PvE games I played. Also made me buy Titanfall 2, so that's a thing.
If I had to rate Apex Legends nowadays, I'd say it's mediocre at best and has deteriorated in enjoyment compared to season 4 when I started.
Ever since I started this game, I was surprised about the lack of a solo mode. I didn't mind it at first because I played with friends daily. But eventually when my friends turned their back to the game, I missed the solo mode more and more. Especially when it came to random teams I was paired with. So it happened more and more times that my team consisted of people who either didn't play the game for long, or didn't learn in the time they have played.
And I'm not saying I'm innocent either. I'm not that good either. But at least I focus on my team more than the kill in front of me. Primary squad eliminator when your team mate - instead of reviving you - goes for the damn kill and then gets shot in the face. Many games would have a different outcome if the game didn't encourage the kill more than the team aspect. Again, EA doesn't want this game to have a solo-mode because it's a team game, yet encourages solo-play more than actually working together.
Then our weapon and legend balance. And I get it, balancing is a seriously difficult topic, and you will always have this set of weapons or that set of characters that are just that little bit better than the others. It's inevitable. But in Apex Legends I rarely see attempts to fix it. Mastiff was nerfed, but it's still as overused as it used to be, and it really just frustrates me. Shotguns in general just take over Apex Legends with how overnerfed some of the other weapons are. Then we have the certain legends which are overused. Bloodhound and Gibby seem to be the two legends I can often expect to see in a squad. Same goes for Lifeline with her combat revive.
Forced LTM's are kinda bad IMO. I don't mind events and stuff like that, but having to play them over a certain period of time just kinda sucks. And no, I don't want to play ranked either. I just don't want a certain game mode to be forced on me. Then at least offer a normal mode alongside with the event mode. It's not that hard.
Lastly, whenever I decide to play with friends, whether they're new to the game or have been playing for a while, the SBMM seems to screw up entirely and we get paired with absolute monsters who can land their shots from miles away without loss of accuracy or whatsoever. I don't mind losing that much but being sprayed from a humongous distance away is seriously just frustrating.
Long story short:
I don't want EA or Respawn to revolve their game around my wish balance. I don't want them to consider every idea the people suggest. But having some kind of open-mind for some of the balance suggestions provided would help wonders.
Also, finally nerf bloodhound, jesus...
I understand the want for solos in this game, but the thing is the legends mechanics are not geard to solo play, I think really only 4 legends are capable of being a qualified solo play skill set Octane, Horizion, Wraith, and Path, Bang could be but effy at best. Secondly do you remember how awful solos was? there was mass teaming and not enough map with out landing and being destoryed. No thank you
