Biggest issues with Arena
Going into this season, again, hyped for new content. New game mode, new possibilities, maybe a bit easier for a solo player like me?
Arena is the exact opposite of what I was expecting, and for one major reason above all else: If you're not in a 3 vs. 3 game, it's over.
First off, matchmaking in this game mode has occasionally shorted one team a player, and IDK if it's because someone backed out or server issues or what, but when a game starts 3v2...it's already over...
And if it is 3v3, there's the HUUUUUUUGE issue with afk players and rage quitters... If someone leaves or goes afk, again, gg...
It's not fun on either side. You're at a major advantage or disadvantage depending on which side you're on, so you're either just struggling trying to hold off 3 people hunting you and you alone down, or just walking up to someone with a mozam because there's nothing they can do except watch you taunt them in their face...
I hate playing the battle royale mode when I'm short changed a teammate or get cheated out of one, but I know I still have a slim chance if I can third party or something, so I'll sometimes try to play solo just for a challenge or when I'm not wanting to deal with a random person on my team.
In this mode, short a teammate or solo is not an option when there's nobody else out there except a full squad hunting you down. Maybe, just maybe, you can get lucky and pull off a surprise on someone here and there, but the difficulty of playing 1v3 or 2v3 in this mode vs. the same scenario in br isn't even close.
BR, there's other people out there on a much larger map, so you can get the jump on anyone at any time, or they can do the same to you. Plus, there's the infamous third parties where you'll see most people come in to get their kills of the game.... When you take away the larger map and other teams, it makes the element of surprise nearly impossible because you're literally going head on at another squad, they know pretty much where you are because of spawn rooms, and the only surprises here are if the team at a disadvantage can survive past the spawn gate...
...anyway, the tl;dr here is that this game mode sucks if the teams are unbalanced. There needs to be something in place to prevent that (either prevent/penalize rage quitters, bring in a new person to fill the gap, or just pause the match/delay the start until the teams are balanced...
