Most people have to spend 18,- to get the legendary required to get the recolor.
The chance you have the skin required for the recoler from basic packages is real low.
What i also notice is that the DEVS know exacly what character you play more.
I noticed that all my friends don't get legendary's of the character they are playing.
Most people want to buy a recolor of a character they are playing.
So most people will have to grab their wallet.
If you pay 18,- for a recolor it better stay exclusive.
This is my main example that i would verry much like to never see in the store again.
Guess what: Its a recolor.
Again:
Another system verry well tought up by EA to get maximum profit.
Its not a coincidence its like this.
There was not just 1 guy that quickly made the concept of the Apex legends store.
I dare to bet everything i have that, A LOT of tought and discussion went over the main source of income for apex legends.
If you make skins 9,- will they sell 2x more?
If you make them 1,- will they sell 18x more?
If you re-use skins will the same amount of people still buy future skins?
If you make a skin 36,- will 0,5 if the people still buy the skin?
Do you have that information/Data?
I'm sure EA has it.
But you seem to know better then all the experts at EA and the information and testing and experience they have selling virutual products.
Since everybody else has no idea what they are alking about and are excepionally stupid.
Especialy since your idea is not that unique its hard for me to understand that you seem to be unable to grasp the fact that EA maybe already considered this or tried it in the past.
So after breaking down all your other reasons that recolors should re-apear in the store.
The only reason you think they should come back is because you want them to come back.
And yes im also not happy with the current way the store is.
But like many things in the gaming world these days.
its all about max profits.
They don't care if a skin stays exclusive or gets reused, If they are outrageously priced or not.
Its all about what gives them the most money and least problems.
No they wouldn't pay. You know how I know? Because you can go for months without seeing anything you like and it is more luck and chance based on skins you have already purchased more than anything else.
You know last week they had 4 shop displays exclusively on a bundle of lifeline charms? Think about that bundle for a second. A bundle for 4 charms - and yet each gun can only put 1 charm on at a time, and people would generally choose their favorite charm and stick with it. So what was the purpose of including 2 or 3 other charms in the bundle? Most of the playerbase doesn't even care about charms and the ones who do care would generally only select one so what the hell was the point of that bundle in the first place?
You seem to think that just because EA/Respawn are large companies and have many people working for them that they are incapable of making mistakes. If you have ever worked for a large company you will know that past a certain point if upper management decides on a course of action everyone will have to fall in line even if they privately may think it is really stupid or have severe disagreements on the wisdom of such a move. They are not infallible. How much money did you think those charm bundles made for EA? Let's say Apex's playerbase is 70 million and 1% of the population bought the bundle. That's still over 69 million who never spent a single cent on that garbage. And you try to tell me with a straight face that that's smart business planning?
You know a competitor like Fortnite has a battle pass system that's so generous that by completing it you can earn up to 1500 premium currency so not only can you afford the next battle pass but you also get enough premium currency to spend on other stuff you want? Fortnite is the most successful videogame of the 21st century profit-wise so far - you think EA is making more money than them? Wrong again.
Finally you seem to think that they have actually run control experiments to determine optimal shop configurations when they actually haven't. I don't remember a time when skins didn't cost 1.8k coins, or charms cost 250/500 coins, etc. They have never changed their prices so they don't even have data on whether or not a lower price would sell more. All they can do is guess and in that regard their guess is as good as mine.
- 6 years ago@FreelancerWhisky thats wrong, they have alreqady lowered some prizes. Sometimes you can buy things for 1200 Coins instead of 1800.
And the second thing is, is it really that hard for you to log in once in 5 days to look whats in store if this is so important for you.
