Buffs for Crypto

I believe Crypto needs some SMALL changes for making him more dynamic and good in gameplay. I'm not saying he is useless, but in the current state of the game and in the official stadistics of Apex legends pick rate and kill rate, Crypto is one of the weakest and less played, which is sad.

And the core problem with him is that his entire kit depends and functions around the dron. Which in itself, it isn't so great.

First and very important, he doesn't have a real passive ability. And I know what are you thinking, BUT when Bloodhound activates his tactical, his teammates can also see all the things that he detects and he doesn't have that as his passive. So? WTF? 

Every legend needs a passive ability independent of the tactical and the ultimate. Of course it has to been something related to the rest of the abilities, but at least individual and special like: Lifeline, Gibraltar, Horizon, Bangalore, Revenant, Loba, Bloodhound, Mirage, Rampart and Wraith.

All the drone stadistics are pretty bad:

- The detection range is too small, what creates the problem of the drone having to approach to the enemy and let them know where is, and destroy it.

- The cooldown is too long.

- The movement speed when you are moving the drone to the sides is low and it feels terrible.

- You can't go through the spaces between the bars of windows, which is dumb because the drone is very small and it doesn't make sense.

Ultimate:

- Crypto takes damage when he is in range.

- The charge time (180 seconds) is too long for an ultimate that it isn't so powerful. Example of ultimate similar in power: (Caustic grenade = 120 seconds) 

- The teammates are slowed when they are in range.

BUFFS

- I don't know what passive could be given to Crypto. If you have an original and good idea, please let me know in the comments.

- Reduce the drone cooldown, from 40 to 30.

- Reduce the time to recall the drone, from 3 to 0, (instantly).

- Increase the detection range from 30 to 45.

- Improove the control movement of the drone in any directions.

- Make the drone be able to go through windows.

- Make that the ultimate can't affect your teammates, and Crypto is only slowed, not damaged.

- Reduce the ultimate charge time, from 180 to 150.

I don't think all this changes make Crypto OP, I know there are a lot of buffs, but these are just TINY improvements whick makes the legend definitely a bit better.

    @Cocodriloiloilo I personally believe if he was given the ability to have a UAV (where you can see enemies on the minimap) for a passive would make playing him more fun as a recon. Also he labeled the surveillance expert, so imo it makes sense.

    I agree with all the changes you stated. I think a good way to change his tactical just a little bit is his drone will still detect enemies when on his back. It only makes sense, since it is facing outwards to cover his flank. Then it would still be viable even if he hasn't sent it out yet

    Crypto needs a slight buff to keep up with Seer and Bloodhound. Mainly his drone cool down is way too long if it gets shot down, especially since using it leaves you completely vulnerable. Also a slight buff to maybe increase it's detection range to like 45 meters? Especially with the range that Seers' passive gets, Crypto's should be larger range. Also, it just makes sense to have the drone be able to scan things behind you if it is on your back and not deployed. It faces outwards to cover his back yet it does nothing when it isn't deployed, so that's hardly even a passive ability to begin with

    @Swaggmasster that seems a bit much, almost like hacking, it takes the fun and work out of finding people and you just look at the minimap and see them all. Maybe when he uses a survey beacon he can see all the enemies on the map for a short period of time. He can still see people on the map but only for a short time and only when he uses a survey beacon.

    @NemInYa I like the tactical idea tbh, I would call it “perimeter breach” where if your in your drone one someone rolls up on you- you get some kind of indication on the drone view

    I think crypto issue is that he has to go into his drone, why? 

     Why have a nurolink when you have to go in it?

     I think that they should get rid of that completely  it's useless and a waist of time. 

    SEER can hold his hand up and sense heart beats.

    Bloodhound claps his handS together and sees everything.

    CRYPTO throws his drone out maybe sees them, goes into a drone look at a banner, and his squad is gone. Granted you can get better at it. But still happens.

    Best thing for crypto is more then one drone and to be able to throw them out like gernades just a sticky camera that sticks to walls and ceilings and rocks and stuff, still has a emp he just super charges one of those cameras throws it out and boom. 

    Have his passive to look at banners and see who's in the area and done. 

    Cause crypto is not a legend, his drone is. He's got zero powers when that thing is gone.

    @Philin-it Multiple drones sounds like a nightmare of controls waiting to happen. How do you recall just one drone? How do you choose between sending out a drone or entering drone mode? What drone does drone mode enter? Which drone gets the EMP?

    The best I see would be a follow mode for the drone, allowing you to access the drone mode bonuses (drone vision that follows your view, see nearby counter, and instant interactions) while the drone follows you, allows you to send the drone to follow teammates so that you can focus on catching up to the fight and still help, and fix the egregiously long drone destroyed cooldown. Preferably by auto-recalling the drone if it takes damage at 1 hp instead of destroying it, and allowing the drone to be redeployed even at 1hp, the drone recovering hp when it is stored.

    @Kinesis862 When I say drone I mean more camera like, almost like symetra from overwatch, just cameras. Still can be shot. But if you tried placing a 4th one it would replace your first camera.
    Passive is being able to look at the banners without being in his drone.
    Emp would be him throwing a charged camera and detonating on impact.

    If not crypto this would be a great new legend.

    so your idea for the drone legend is to take away his drone. just play someone else at that point. i like flying the drone around, its fun.

    just because youre not good at crypto doesnt mean he needs to have an entire identity shift. the follow mode thing is a good idea, the emp grenade thing is a good idea, getting rid of a mobile flying eye in the sky in favor of three eyes on a wall is terrible, and would only be a crutch.

    crypto gets a bad rep because people pick him without thinking, then they either spend too much time in the drone, and not enough time shooting the enemy with their team, or they forget the drone exists and play him as Guy with a Gun. the key is knowing WHEN to drone, the how is easy.

    actually, now that im thinking of it, the follow mode idea, while not outright terrible, isnt really very good either. having eyes in the back of your head would be nice, but i have ears, and a nice headset that lets me know which direction sounds are coming from. i wouldnt need the follow mode. nobody else should need it either. if you feel like this is the change that would make crypto viable, i urge you to just practice and get better at awareness. if it falls into "crutch" territory its not a good idea. if it falls into the category of "this should just be part of his tactical" you fall back into the problem we already have which is crypto doesnt have a passive ability. he definitely needs a new passive, but if its not a very good one, he wont get another passive for a looong time.

    these are things it seems people dont actually think about. i feel like people play a game, lose to something frustrating, then come to the forums to complain to the devs to "fix" it so that doesnt happen to them anymore.
