Caustic Feedback from a Caustic Main

First off, gotta begin with I LOVE THIS GAME. I am beyond hooked on it. so with that out of the way. I LOVE Caustic. All it takes is one match where you ult a squad in a house and proceed to act out that lobby scene from terminator 2, to turn you into a Caustic fan. All he needs are a couple of simple utility buffs to be in a reeeeeeally good spot.

1. NOX Gas damage. Leave it as is. The fact the gas damages enemies is just extra. The REAL benefit of it is your passive. While they are in a frenzy choking in your gas, you are calm, collected, deadly.

NOX Gas radius and duration. Either buff one of these, or both of these. And specifically for the radius give it a higher vertical radius too. If I throw my ult into the first floor of a house, the gas should also cover the above floors (with limitations obviously)

Animations. Speed up the time it takes for my nox trap to be ready to trigger between hitting the button, pulling it out and throwing it, and having it inflate. Would be amazing if the traps could be active for a gas cloud the moment they hit the ground, but I know that might be too much.

Animations: ULT His ult animation right now is one of his biggest hinderances. Currently, the way it works is as follows: I hit the ult button, he takes the gas nade out, Fully primes it, and THEN I can actually throw it. Considering that his gas trap does have a full priming animation but I can throw it before it completes, I challenge you to provide me a logical reason as to why the ult can't work the same way. How it should be: The gas nade should be throwable as soon as I hit the ult button, I should be able to just, hit-the-ult-button-and-throw. Bop, bop. If people believe this is too much, I'd be ok with balancing by increasing the time to get ult a bit to compensate for the nade's extra effectiveness with being able to be thrown out quicker than before.

Just my two cents. I don't think his nox gas damage needs to be touched AT ALL. If anything, HAD to be done, I say make gas from his ult and gas from his traps stack. So if an enemy squad is dumb enough to walk into my house filled with traps and decides to stay after I also throw my ult down. They're taking 2 instances of damage. Damage ticks from the trap gas, and damage ticks from the ult gas.

  • It needs to either do it's slow despite any shields or needs to not slow friendlies.

    Damage is low but it's meant to be more of warning and denial. So I think it is fine as well

  • Maybe have his passive be a limited radius aura? Team mates that come with you into the gas get the immunity?
