Yup ...the matchmaking is GARBAGE! That and being forced into your spawn point with nowhere to go. I find it odd that nobody thought this through before they released it. Also, my son is a much better player than I am and he plays on PC. I just got finished teaming up with him for a few games of Control. The skill balance between PC players and console is night and day. I'm lucky if I get 4 kills playing against mostly PC players in cross-platform. Even though PC players (well M&K anyways) don't get aim assist it must be far easier to play than with a controller. Although I've seen some phenomenal controller players on YouTube.
When I don't team up with a PC player it seems to just be PS and XBOX players. I generally do OK in that group of players but once I enter the PC gaming pool it feels like I haven't even played the game before sometimes. You'd think there would be something to make all of this a bit more balanced so everybody has fun. I don't mind losing and I start to get pissed off if I'm playing badly but getting constantly smoked by every other player gets a bit frustrating when it happens for several games in a row.
Also one of the things that I don't like about the BR is the constant running. In Control there seems to be a fair bit of waiting to spawn in and running to whichever point only to sometimes die again. So while not as bad as in BR there is often more time spent waiting and running than actually playing This also gets very tiring after a while and seems to be a common characteristic with their design. IMO there definitely needs to be a Team Deathmatch mode. Apex Legends is such a well-designed game in so many aspects that it almost seems ridiculous not to have more modes that appeal to a larger player base.
