Create adjustable "ping" audio option (spam pinging)

Would be great if a person can choose the level of the ping sound. Far to many times when someone is knocked, they spam ping. When this occurs, it is very hard to hear footsteps and other audio that is valuable.  

OR

Have the ping sound decay if pressed repetitively 

Also, it is VERY distracting visually. So if you're reading this and you spam ping, please stop.
