Dive Trails Next Season

The reason for Apex Ranked Rewards to be changed/taken away is completely ridiculous. It was stated by patch notes “We’ve been observing unintended effect where the presence of a Ranked Dive Trail during the drop would unduly influence where players would want to land—either strongly avoiding or actively pursuing players with the trail.” SO WHAT? There’s ways to avoid that, we’ve had the option in the past to equip or unequipped the trail, dropping last, or dropping to the further region of the map. If this change is mostly in regards to Public Matches, that’s ridiculous. I play Alex Rank on a faithful basis and the idea to now take away the dive trail is ridiculous to me. I’m fully aware of the fact that people were “ratting” this season of Apex Rank but when I grind in Apex Rank, I grind for those rewards and now that I'm going to be handed this pathetic excuse of rewards is stupid. I’m officially done with Apex Rank dog. Y’all can have it. And now that I’m done with Apex Rank, I’m hardly going to be playing this game at all (especially considering if these Devs keep putting Storm Point in rotation). I hate Apex at this point, season after season there is always some completely stupid change to the game that is SIMPLY NOT NEEDED! This chiz is depressing at this point, whatever man. Have fun with the game.

    @SageOfSix1Hey there, I can understand their reasoning behind them being disabled. The ranked system did not go as planned. There are currently well over 1 million master players right now. With normal seasons not being remotely close to those numbers. The system was exploited which is why they disabled trails in my eyes and thoughts. So for me is it fair to give someone a trail that they really did not earn with a real ranked scene in place. Where some silver players never would have been able to make it to those ranks yet they are in those ranks now.

    I agree, I absolutely respect what you’re saying but if the issue is the season-long dive trail, I’d make it a short season. We’re not even getting a new legend and typically when we do, the days are increased to what….80 to maybe 90 days. I’d cap it at 66. Plus if all those players have dive trails, I guarantee they will not be touching Apex Rank this season. Apex is on there what, 18th season? The dive trails were a problem long before now, and they want to make a change now? People complained about the ratting but ratting happens EVERY SEASON IN RANKED. Even if you reverse engine back to the way it was, people will still rat. This entire season was useless.

    @SageOfSix1 I want to make sure this is understood. Anyone that earned a dive trail this season will get to use it next season. It is after next season there are no more trails available.

    @SageOfSix1 Like what @hayhor had said, you will have the dive trail for next season, its just after that, it would become a banner frame.

    Its honestly sad for me. This is the first time I've hit a rank above plat, and I don't think I'll ever display any of the rewards because people would only think "well you just ratted", and I'll get more teammates who would throw the match.

    If that sounds farfetched, I've seen people throw the match over dumber reasons than that, such as when I picked up ammo or a gun and then the person just takes all the loot in front of me, (following me around), while they blocked doors and drew in enemy team(s), ditching me to fight the enemy team(s) alone.

    I hope next season's rank is better than this one.

    To me, it seems an odd reason was put forward for getting rid of the dive trails. You can switch it to default, avoiding the "attracting attention on drop" , unless you want to "attract attention on drop" .

    I switched to default in ranked after getting dropped on a few times ages ago, even though it was a rs1 diamond trail. It was obvious to me there were teams that went head hunting. 

    They did mention that they didn't want the sky full of ranked dive trails, which is why they made a them seasonal reward. 

    Apparently 😉 nothing has been mentioned about those permanent rs1 dive trails, so I'm presuming default dive trails are staying in the game.
