Doing a Finisher but Teammate or Enemy Kills last person = No Shields Gained?

I was watching a stream on twitch and I noticed something that I didn't even know. So if you're doing a finisher to get shields off an enemy, but your teammate and I also assume an enemy ends up killing the last member of that squad. You will not get the shield health from the finisher. Is this intended?

I bring this up because the game was patched when the enemy leaves during a finisher, you'll still get the shield health. Before, you didn't get the shield health when the enemy left during a finisher. Most people don't even know this information. But yeah, you will get shield health if the enemy leaves during the finisher. 😛

So my main question at the start of this topic is basically this. Should we get the shield health off the enemy even if your squad or a different squad kills the last member of the enemy you're doing the finisher on? I think you should because you're doing that finisher for a reason.

    Yeah it's stupid. Same thing if the enemy backs out, you dont get the shield. They should fix it but I wouldn't bet on respawn to fix common sense issues

    @Leo_the_Lion25 The real question is, should the animation still play out for that last play (unless they leave right away) before giving you full shields or should they just drop and automatic shields.

    I feel the animation should finish playing because it's risky business doing a finisher and thus should not be rewarded until it is finished.

    But as for now, agreed. Give the intended shield to the user, I have had this issue and always pray to the apex gods that my teammates not finish off the last guy before I get my armor back.

    Yes. Once you initiate the finisher, you should be locked into getting the rewards regardless if the enemy squad gets wiped before the animation finishes. 

    Animation times vary, don’t forget.

    @DarthVaaparThis is true. Depending on the finishers the Legend has. They are usually 5 seconds by default. That is a shield Battery unless you have Fast Heals

    There are a few legends with 6 second finishers who are Gibby (when he sits on you)/Wraith (the one where she punches you and voids you)/Caustic (his three strikes)

    There are a few legends that have super fast finisher that is 4 seconds. They are Lifeline (the one where she stabs you in the head)/ Pathfinder (his High 5)/ Wattson.

    Wattson is the special one. Both of her finishers are 4 seconds each. However, I like the one where she explodes you.
