EA Nerf Wingman pls
Wingman is always OP in these seasons. High damage, no damage falloff and suitable for all range combat. Wingman is just a PISTOL, so please at least add the damage falloff like other guns. And in...
@Xx__Miku831__xXSo as I been trying to convey a certain message in other "nerf/remove wingman" threads, I will repeat said message here.
Please watch the following video focusing on NRG_Aceu who is one of the best players in the world and who swears by the wingman and who lives and breathes this game.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSvwoP6CUyE
In case you don't wanna observe what goes down in this footage then I will summarize it for you.
* Full squad of professional NRG players whose learned to work excellently with each others.
* All 3 squad members geared with supposedly OP Wingman.
* NRG squad fails to win the match in spite of all using the supposedly OP wingman.
* Get's beaten by a team that does not use supposedly OP wingman.
* Ace is arguably the best player of the 3, and probably within the top 25 Apex players on a world basis..
* Ace has a total of 110 wingman shots fired throughout the video.
* Ace lands a total of 29 Body Shots and 1 Head Shot.
* The total damage of 29 Body Shots + 1 Head Shot (45x29 + 78x1 (Helmet damage reduction)) = 1383 Damage.
* Ace had a total of 4252 damage dealt.
* 30 hits out of 110 shots = an accuracy of 27.27%
* There was at no point 2 headshots in a row (double tap) present, something everyone is using as justification for devs to nerf Wingman.
* This video is a real world situation and thus paints a real world picture of how the Wingman functions in the hands of the best of the best.
The above should tell you all you need to know about the current state of wingman. It is truly not OP.
@HLNorsemaneThe last fight in the clip does not represent the real situation in the game.
Of course Wingman cannot help them win that fight with several reasons:
- Already lost a member
- Opponents had the high-land advantage (which allowed them to choose when to fight)
- They used another OP weapon to fight (rip PK, I don't want to see you again 🙂 )
Wingman is not the best to fight in close range (R99 and the new mastiff exist in the game), but it does pretty well in all-ranged battles. The first nerf I suggested will only affect the long-ranged battle that a PISTOL supposed to be weak to fight.
The reason I suggested the second nerf is wingman can deal a lot more damage to other guns with same amount of bullets (when comparing to guns that use light, heavy or energy ammo),
doubling the ammo use prevents player to bring a lot more other stuffs (cells or explosives) that benefits them for fighting.
To conclude, these nerfs will not affect the damage output of wingman (except for the super long-ranged fight), but only balance the ammo use of wingman that also shows OP after the backpack change in the last few patch notes.
