Evac Tower

Evac Tower feel way too plentiful. I'd like if they were yellow loot. As it is, everyone has one. Heat shields are now obsolete. And positioning is almost pointless now.

Heat shields are very useful and not at all obsolete.

Evac towers as loot should not at all be legendary loot. They should be on par with the other survival item loot.

Why is positioning pointless now? please explain that statement?

Evac towers do not negate positional play in any way.

Before evac towers, being pinned down by 2 teams is a death sentence. Now though, we've been able to escape multiple times.

I've seen the reverse of this too where we've maneuvered to attack a team running from the ring closing, but then they just fly over.

I've been in multiple games where we're having a nice battle with a team, and 2 other teams land on top of us.

Having 3 towers propelling teams into the sky at the last ring closure was a bit ridiculous too.

Killing an evac tower takes some 5 or more magazines, which is a ton of damage.

They're cool and all. There are just so many that I sometimes place one to pick up another and fly away.

I haven't touched a heat shield in days. Imo the only reason to use one now is to loot a death box outside the ring. Otherwise it's too easy to beat the ring closure with the towers.

This could just be from the point of view of someone who dislikes playing movement characters though. Maybe if I played them more, I wouldn't think about positioning. /Shrug.

I feel the towers just make the game more chaotic/luck based and less predictable/strategic. But I also think Apex likes their game being more fast paced high reflex and less strategic like war games.

Yes they are great for avoiding the ring but are also a big telegraph. whereas the Heat shields can be a bit low key.
I see what you say about the use of them for thriding but have yet to really experience that.
They are great for getting out of bad fights/positions though especially when you are being pinched by two teams.

Maybe keeping them blue level loot but reducing the amount spawned would keep them viable and reduce the spam use.
