Gold shield very little advantage since season 6 revamp ?

Gold shields now have only 3 bars and since revamp before last give double heals instead of quick heals.  Now I have a brain injury so maybe I'm missing something here and someone can help me out ?  But it seems the only real advantage you're getting is one double shield on a set of 3 and double on several syringe heals at least.  This makes the apex red evo shield the far superior one to have as you are going to get more bang for your buck to stay in the game with a simple shield battery than any complex series of healing you're going to pull off with the gold being that loud healing that many times for less net shields than evo, slight healing advantage over evo for syringes only.  It seems that other than double heals advantage trying to not get burnt up by the ring it's kind of a dud.  Like I say just me or am I missing something ?  If they're going to keep gold 3 bars of shields going back to quick heals instead of doubles would be somewhat better I think.   Before you rag on me for something that should be obvious I haven't figured out I have cognitive issues from a brain hemorrhage.  Thanks.

    @RNM104898656 The thing about it, is that gold always mimicked purple, but had something special about it. Kinda like a shinny Pokemon. Because it's supposed to be the same thing as purple, it just became useless when it lost it's one bar. I rarely see people run around with gold armor.

    Easy fix. Make gold 2 bar evo shield with higher damage needed to evolve to lever 4

    @RNM104898656 The gold shield is only useful when you're stuck in the storm, as the extra heals can save your life and that of your team. I would also pick up the red evo against the legendary shield due to having more HP, especially with the TTK.

    With how fast the TTK is though I believe the gold shield is supposed to be used constantly during a fight to keep popping a cell and continuing the fight, it does it's current job effectively though, which is reducing the time it takes to heal.

    I still run gold over Evo. This is mainly cause im on the most sweat legends there is wraith. It all boils down to strategy. For when how i rush into battles and do take massive damage to escape and quickly heal back up to run back in while they loot or still fighting is how i use it as wraith. There are ways to make it practicle just up to the user of how they wish to use it. For me i go in like chicken with head cutt off then phase out quickly shield and heal and jump right back into it.

    Yeah that actually makes sense with a character good at eluding to get out heal a quick partial and get right back in.  It would work and be a benefit for Octane too; I hadn't thought of that.  Not really sure it has much to offer me as a slow fat Caustic main though besides like I say one double shield, two double syringes and an advantage on avoiding ring death.  I'll take the evo.

    Exactly, now it's just mostly something pretty to have 😁 to make people jealous that don't realize it ain't all that anymore.  Like a status symbol.

    All I know is I'd rather use a 8 second shield battery to get 4 bars of shield than 2 x 5 seconds shield cells to get only 3 bars.  Fast heals would be better than doubles. I see a lot of youtubers saying they're not really bothering with gold shields anymore.
