@WTF_Huitzo No, but I do see a lot of Japanese/Chinese names in my matches, and they either have very high ping as they teleport around, or they're using cheats. Most of the cheaters appear to be from my region, as they're English names, even though that's not quite a clear indicator.
I also saw a level 2 Wraith who was aimbotting and wall hacking. It was super obvious that they were cheating. I have no clue how that's "undetectable" cheating, but its quite clear that the game needs a better anti-cheat if it can't ban someone snapping from player to player with no recoil, shooting through knockdown shields as if they didn't exist, etc.
Edited: Just had another match, where it was a level 8 Wraith, (different player name), and they too were using cheats. They ended the game as the kill leader with 12 kills.
No idea how a "new" player who's snapping to others isn't flagged as a cheater, let alone a smurf. Then again, they allow pro players to do "rookie to pred" grinds on new accounts, since "smurfing is when you stomp lower lobbies over and over again", even though when that pro player goes through rookie, bronze, silver, gold, and plat lobbies, they're doing the exact definition that EA/Respawn uses to define smurfing in Apex. The pros stomp on these lower lobbies until they're back in diamond, masters, and pred level lobbies.
Although the "hidden MMR" makes it to where it doesn't even matter if they smurf or not, since you can see diamonds to preds as soon as silver IV.
I also don't think KD has anything to do with the players we run into. Your KD, (as you've mentioned), is 6.0, meaning you killed more than you have died. Mine is 0.81 overall, 0.77 for S19, and 0.72 for S19 ranked, which means I've died more than I have killed. If you're not seeing cheaters, that's a clear indicator that the matchmaking doesn't use KD to determine who fights who, as you should of fought these cheaters more frequently than I would of.
If I had to take a guess, its that we're all facing cheaters, but a lot of us just chalks it up to, "oh its just a pro player, nothing I could do".
Besides if you were saying KD is a factor, it doesn't make sense either, as a new player could get 5 kills in one match and then die, where their KD would be 5, that would be right below your KD by 1. Does that mean they're a good player and should fight against other high KD's? Not at all.
