Havoc - Select fire

Hello!

Recently i've been having a lot of fun with havoc select fire, but that fun only lasts for a bit, mid and late game fights are usually close range. And i cannot use gun at all unless i stop and take out hopup, and swap it with turbocharger.

It would be "playable" to have both selectfire and turbocharger at once, making your select fire shot faster. Havoc with select fire at it first stage was good, but charge rifle now makes the gun bad. Team laugh at me when they hear that "eagle" fire sound. Some of them never heard it before with many hours playing.

Having 2 slots for hopups at same time will solve only select fire speed, nothing else, so people (me and 2 other persons who play this weapon) will not have to worry about having a spare turbocharger in backpack for that lategame pushing.  Also with that you can request a specific hopup, so my team doesnt have to look in top logs. You already have voice lines.

Thank you for your time!

I hope you dont laugh at  me like my team for using this weapon.

tl,dr: Have both selectfire and turbocharger in havoc

  • @Aaxhaaz I believe this would made make the Havoc more powerful than intended.

The gun is already good (when not compared to the Charge Rifle) as the single fire has no drop off and 100% accuracy if you can aim it. While the Tubro lets you shred opponents like cheese.

Having the ability to switch to one or the other at any moment seems like it would be unfair and just OP. Sniping enemies from miles away and than tearing them apart as they try to get close.

I think it's well balanced as is with having to either carry one extra or simply just take the normal charge up speed vs turbo speed.

Maybe an easier option to swap it out while checking your inventory would be nice. But not the ability to attach 2 to 1.
  • Hey there!

    I've some thoughts about this.
I recently think that HAVOC with selectfire hop-up is quite useless. I suppose it was going to be a long-range option for HAVOC, but now we all have CHARGE RIFLE, so i think the only plus of HAVOC selectfire is option to cancel your shoot.
Maybe it could be better if it worked like mini version of LG-97 THUNDERBOLT from Titanfall 2.
It shot a powerful and slow bolt of electricity. This bunch dealt small damage to everything and everyone in 2 meter radius (i don't know certainly). If bolt hits something it explodes and does a lot of damage at the same radius. Pilot had to reload LG-97 THUNDERBOLT after each shot.
I really think it'll be very usefull in tight areas or just to make enemies feel uncomfortable in thier hideout.
What do you think about that?

    Keep yourself safe, players.

How about another direction on the "turbocharger vs select fire" argument.......

Why not both?    BUT......remove the magazine hopup?

  • @Aaxhaaz Honestly with the addition of the charge rifle, I feel like the SF hop-up on the Havoc is even more underwhelming than it was before. Also if your team laughs at you for using a havoc with a turbo they don't know what they're talking about, the gun is nuts if you can aim 🙂

@iBlockHead You already have the option to change firemode at any time. Like any other gun. With "b" (default keybind). But problem is that firemode will be slow since you have selectfire instead of turbo.
I still think that the gun with SF is underwhelming and bad, the delay is the main problem.
Its amazing with turbocharger dont get me wrong. I love that weapon.
  • @MrNyahr I was talking when using the gun with select fire on :D
The gun is really good, damage is crazy, like double from normal light weapon weapons, with a big recoil to make weapon balanced.
Turbocharger havoc is amazing, and well balanced. Select fire on the other hand is kinda bad, feels wierd. Delay on each shot kills it.
  • @Aaxhaaz that's my whole point on why it's balanced.

Accept the slower charge rate for sniper capabilities or take the faster charge rate but no sniper capabilities. 1 gives you the benefit of both but with a slower AR fire rate and the other just makes it a faster firing gun with not other option.

Well balanced but I would like the select fire version to deal more damage, it does use 3-4 more shots for a single shot so a damage increase there would do it justice and put it on par or close to the charge rifle which does more damage and does not consume too much ammo.

@iBlockHead I only tried the havoc with Select Fire once so maybe I'm underestimating it here. When I tried it the select fire option used more ammo and fired a slow moving bullet that could be side-stepped. It only seemed to be valuable against stationary targets at a distance and didnt do enough damage to one shot or badly damage a target. In a head to head fight its useless and doesn't do enough damage to ambush a target so at best it can only be used to 3rd party long distance fights.

Combining the turbo charger and select fire attachment on the havoc might make select fire useful but even then i doubt it. I understand your point about balance but at the moment Select fire is trash on the havoc.
