Since the launch of this thread, Arenas has pretty much been deleted. Now it's TDMs and Controls.
Still faster than BR, but takes longer than Arenas.
I do wish they'd bring back Arenas.
As for BR, I hate hotdroppers because it's guaranteed death. I live in the woods so we don't have access to the best internet.
And when we launch edge-bound, the first ring gets quite small because few people remain.
I mostly witness that later in game.
I've had matches where each ring one or two squads die, and we have little to no ring movement.
And matches where 5+ died and later rings got massive movements.
I've had matches that had 6+ rings and matches where by final 2 the 4th ring was the final and would eat everyone when it moves, and then half-way through moving my team died.
So the ring movements are dependent on how many survivors or surviving squads there are, and because of the hotdroppers the rings are fewer, faster, and stronger.
As for people leaving matches when they get downed or bannered... I've had plenty of matches where I revive and respawn my teammates.
I had one match as Ballistic where I had 4 respawns and 2 revives.
He's not even a support class!
I've had a duos match as crypto where I respawned my ally 5 times, and almost got 6th but had to cross the final duo for the drone to reach the final beacon.. didn't end well...
second place! we played a few more matches together after that...
And, as NewCastle, I've had a few times that I launch my Ultimate at a downed ally, and they left before I landed, thus I couldn't revive them with my golden revive shield or pickup/craft their banner... Those times are really infuriating.
I've had a few where them leaving got me killed, a few where they stayed and I revived and they wrecked the enemy crew, and a few where they left before I could activate and so I put it away and I made second place without them while they left around 15th (trios).
I tend to always make top 5 by edge dropping, even if allies leave halfway through. I'm a rouge and aid, not a fighter - due to terrible internet service otherwise I'd have more wins under my belt.
