How are Shotguns still this inconsistent?

What do you guys even mean with "inconsistent". Do you mean that shotgun have a faulty/buggy shooting mechanics that robs you of hits? I know that I am very inconsistent with shotguns. In fact, the number of times Ive totally choked and failed to kill an enemy with 50 hp left with a PK or Eve8 is embarrassing.  But like Ive said 100 times; I always play with Nvidia instant replay on and replay fishy moments but when I rewatch my shotgun misses, like 7 + 7 + 7 dmg moments, in slomotion, without the stress,  I always realize that it was my aim that was just slightly off or that half the pellets hit non-hitbox areas etc. But please prove me wrong; post some clips when the shotguns are acting inconsistent and we can have a constructive discussion about it.

I am fairly sure that the pellet pattern and how fast it spreads to its maximum pattern size is not just random design. The Eve8 design is ofc very clever; 8 rounds of 8 pellets with a pattern forming the number 8. But the Devs have most likely done simulation on possible landed pellets on different distances and how much deviation from "the perfect aim" that is needed to miss X number of pellets att different distances etc. Same with the Mastiff. The row of pellets and how it spreads is ofc designed to only make it possible to land X pellets on a certain distance.

For instance in the image below, I used a scope to pin point the Eve8s pellet spread on exacly 10 meters. Then I pasted it over a dummy also it on exactly 10 meters. And as you can see; even at a PERFECT shot where the crosshair is EXACTLY in the middle of the dummy on that angel, I would only have landed 3-4 pellets = 21-28 dmg. And to land a perfect shot is easier said than done when both you and your opponent are moving around.
