How can we remove in-game advert notifications/banners?

I want to start with saying that I am amazed that previous threads posts were removed but I will honestly try here at my best to not infringe any guidelines or t&c.

This post is about : How to remove the banners/adverts about politics in-game ? I play this game to relax and chill and not follow any politics or anything going on in the real world, therefore the BLM fullblackscreen with a politics message and the in-game lobby with the right side notification that is there without knowing how to remove I feel that my mood is affected, therefore my gaming experience is influenced by that (by a simple politics message).

Is there an option or settings to remove that from my screen and be fully immersed into the game without being forced to see that if I want to play the game? Is there somehow a way to prevent this from hapenning in the future?

I earlier on today posted something related about some threads being deleted in regards of this same matter (which they were maybe posted in a different wrong manner?), and recieved a warning so I don't want any trouble but the warning said to not bring any politics or religion into this but the message I see in game is about politics, isn't that against the guidelines?

I might receive a ban or this post removed but I simply try to understand how to remove in-game adverts/banners about politics ? Could anyone please help? Is it something I must do from Apex Legends in-game or from the client itself?

  • @Astropithecus_93 Extremely short answer? No there is no way of moving it without breaking the TOS.

I too will keep this short. You should not see the banner pop up more than once during a game play session unless you are crashing, getting errors or are abusing the exploit to disconnect/reconnect yourself from a game so you do not lose points in ranked.(which means it will constantly pop up on your screen). Every time you are killed and returned to the lobby then you should be "readying up" while looking/using your phone (as I do most of the time). Naturally everybody sees a specific part of the screen when we look at something, which is denoted in the following links:

    https://cxl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/gutenberg-diagram.png

So it is not your natural instincts looking at that particular banner in the bottom right corner, but you specifically. If it REALLY bothers you that much just play another game. I stand behind Respawn on this decision on a unified front.

Actually people... It's only YOUR life, and those of your squad-mates, that "matter".

Just play the game, leave the politics out. That's a RL issue

  • Well I’m personally glad certain messages pop up regularly, especially the BLM one because it’s exactly the kind of intrusion people need to be confronted with, like you, OP.

Normally messages popping up is just to sell more stuff and sure it’s annoying but people complain about that less, and it’s not close to being as good a reason.

By the way saying BLM is about politics is something that’s not true.  But saying it’s about politics is definitely being political.

There’s no political party associated with BLM though at least 2 political parties trying to make it about politics.  I’d get wise to that quick because I think it’s becoming clear that you can’t be against censorship on the internet and then be against things that rightly bring up people’s intolerance.

You’re going to have to deal, OP, and it’s probably time you did, I think.

  • @KelRiever

More unarmed white people were shot and killed by cops than black people in 2019. And a cop is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black man than vice versa.
So... BLM sounds political when you look at the stats, and the way most mainstream media defends it with lies about it being "peaceful'.

Already went and disproved this stat as meaning anything.  It’s also a stat that white racist groups promote and I’m pretty sure there’s no political group that’s suppose to support them.

Sorry, I'm calling BS on your less than 10k view youtube source and go with one that is based on far more credible sources, like this: https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/08/study-claims-white-police-no-more-likely-shoot-minorities-draws-fire
And point out where the use of this guys opinion WSJ article goes wrong.

in the meantime, again, you should know there’s nothing political about crime, and people who want justice for a disproportionate use of force against Black Americans.  There is no political party at all that shouldn’t recognize the problem.

  • @KelRiever with all respect, the government and authorities realeased already data/information about those things and people don't want to admit that and you won't see that in most mainstream media. Just look up yourself on governmental platforms. Anyway leaving those things aside, the point was that is ok to be in solidarity with someone, but why now when it's trendy? and if you like those messages why don't they just post about racism on other ethnicities too? or climate change? or animals that got exctinct because of humans? You see where I'm going with this? It's absolutely fine to stand for someone, but there are ways to do so and platforms to do so, Apex Legends is not a platform, it's a videogame and I was simply not happy about a thing being forced into my face, even tho I agree with the message but I don't want to see that sht on my face, and yes I asked this post about notifications in general dude, I'm not happy about any notification being forced into my face, but what made me do this post it was because it was not even game-related. Keep real-life things to real-life. What will happen in the future if we will be able to control our dreams via idk electronics, will we get adverts and notifications about real-life while we dream? Let me f dream......that's my point.
  • @KelRieverEvery person who disagreed with the study in the article you sent was a "a political scientist" So much for your 'not political' point. And furthermore, cops were more likely to shoot people of their own race. So this also doesn't hold up well for a racism argument.

I'd agree, that I'd like to see the sources this YouTube video used, but you can look up the stats yourself.
White people make up the majority of people shot by cops. With blacks coming in at like 30~%.
When you take into account crime statistics, blacks commit more murders and violent crimes than white people. That's not per capita, that's total number. And blacks only make up 13~% of the population.

My point is not to vilify any race, but to create deeper thought about these issues. I stand by the video I sent. You'd have a super hard time finding anyone who actually thinks black lives don't matter. You'd also have a hard time finding anyone who has thought about the bigger picture too. Something is obviously wrong that's causing many blacks to have tougher lives, and commit more crime, but is it because of cops?
Or is it maybe leftist politics creating tribalism and victim complexes, dividing people by their race?

Maybe the leftist media inciting violence, by angrily reporting their anti America opinions, and stoking hot button racial issues by claiming every single Republican is a closet racist out to get them? Even denouncing, demonizing, and claiming racism at black people who have right leaning views.

Maybe the Democrat big city affordable housing debacles that year after year pays absurd amounts of money to inner city construction companies that build inferior fall apart housing that quickly gets condemned, and are never responsible for their work?

Could it maybe be public school systems that have failed children for decades? Especially the inner city schools where people had no choice where to send their kids, that statistically fail their students year after year?

Or should we just keep repeating "Cops are bad", and posting our black squares on social media without thinking about the cause of these issues?

To those who said this movement or series of events wasn't political, go tell that to people in Seattle which saw a small area turn into a new country, called "Chaz" and the whole of police departments accross USA are being challenged with this new "defund the police" idiotic idea. Say again this wasn't all political? I said it since the beginning, this is pure politics, and there are more stuff awaiting for the citizens, that you can't see.

    Sorry it isn’t political.

and clearly the banner isn’t going away.

i think you need to start recognizing it’s there for good reason, saying as civilly as I can.
