Look, I know how this game works. Shotguns were fine up until season 5. Then we got that cancer mastiff and everything wend down in the drain. YOU might need to learn how games work, and what is an imbalance. Why people use shotguns all the time? Because it's easy, thanks to the game mechanics, it's pretty easy to jump on someone's face, and you can't avoid getting face-to-face with your enemy. This is how the game works, and this is why shotguns have too much advantage. How come every other game have balance regarding shotguns vs. every other weapon except Apex. If I want less than a second TTK from body shots, I'll play CS:GO. Why is it so hard to understand?
@CrashA321 Fine until season 5? I'm pretty sure the PK existed before then and it was a much bigger problem than the Mastiff.
Also every game has pretty much the same balancing ideas for shotguns. OP at close range but tickles opponents if they're more than 10 steps away. If anything Apex just gives shotguns more range and less dominance at point blank than other shooters do.
- 5 years ago@heme725 And if that's the issue I could agree to nerfing the range, but in doing so the point blank shots should increase to 100 damage for a mastiff , and maybe the pk without a choke, (the range Nerf wouldn't work in this instance with the 100 point blank damage due to the choke on the pk) and the Eva 8 hits 8s and 16s at mid range on most accounts, not something I'm worried about.

Problem is that 3 times more shotguns spawn in loot areas than anything else... More likely to find a shotgun when you start looting than any other weapon, and then 20 meters from there you find a purple bolt. Looted for 20 mins till I found a longbow last game. Coincidence? No. Devs force us to use the cancer shotguns just like that. And no, thank you, I won't use them.
Before season 5, less shotguns spawned in the loot pool, and therefore less people used them, therefore the game was way more diverse, not just all players run into each other's face and shotgun them down.

Well, actually... I did have a thought. Considering all those threads about some of the same weapons, clearly some change is needed. So, this thought... When it went through my head, I was like "wow, I think I might have just revolutionized game development altogether!"
Well, it's a complicated system. Actually, it might just require the full expertise of every developer ever born. But let me explain: Just try a change.
It's not like changes are set in stone. If a change turns out to be too much, a small value change can be made. If a change didn't do enough, it can be added. If a change had the desired effect, it can be kept. It's not like every change is instantly a doomsayer for the next season. It only has been that way because most major balancing changes are being made season-wise.

There are multiple threads made about shotguns by 2 persons, no one gives them a lot of experience or click "Me too!", so it is probably not considered a big problem by most people.
The EVA-8 wasn't overpowered for 8 seasons and isn't now. For me, it was the only weapon, which could stop R-99 when it was beyond broken, and i was using it since season 1 alongside the triple take. Now i switched to L-STAR.
Do people know, that Mozambique, when player aim through the optics, is effective up to 20-25 meters? And can do up to 53 damage? It is more effective than EVA-8 on that distance.
Should we nerf it too?🤔
