When you shoot half a devotion mag (with turbo) into a player and cracked armor and gottem them so low, they shoudln't be able to deal full HP + red evo shield damage in 3-4 shots within a moment's notice. That's a load of bull.
and no, I wasn't "missing", we're point blank, a shotgun shouldn't be able to outclass every single gun either. The real non-sense about it as well, was the player was a level 30, so basically there's no skills required in this game, there hasn't been for a long time. It also wasn't a smurph, everything about them didn't scream "pro player" or "pred".
Using a stopwatch, a devotion with turbo can knock down a test dummy in almost 2 or so seconds, while the EVA is only slightly longer with a purple bolt. If you shot at someone first, and were 2 meters away from them, and then they started to use a shotgun, there's zero chances of the shotgun user out damaging you. (Note: I didn't test shooting the test dummy in the head, and nethier me nor the EVA player hit headshots).
This game is terrible with gun balancing.
Spitfire OP? Increased damage and care packaged
Tripple Take just annoying? Yeah, care package for no real reason
Hemlok too good? Reduced recoil and damage
Prowler dealing too much damage too fast? Just a wee slap on the wrist and it loses 1 singular damage point per bullet. wow what an early Christmas gift!
Mastiff ruining the meta? Lets keep it in the game for a few seasons before doing something about it.
I've tried so long to remain positive, but over time dealing with cheaters, smurphs, toxic players, bugs, etc. I've - and I'm sure many of the other players within the community has gotten tired of it and simply don't really care anymore. I'm just going to speak my mind more freely because enough is enough.
To be fair point blank range is where a shotgun should be strong is it not?
@Piabeticthat is fair, although guns like the Peacekeeper, Mozam, and Mastiff all can deal good damage up close, but they don't just instantly shred people in 2.1s
