I consistently had more kills and damage than my other 2 teammates combined, but it didn't matter. I was always stuck in silver 3, even after hundreds of hours.
The whole thing was just unreasonable so I gave up. I can see where OP is coming from.
- 3 years ago@AcidicSoda44031 Well as a counter argument I can say that I pushed to dia 2 In the last split of Arena relatively easy, having a 60% winrate as a solo. If I invested more time I could’ve hit masters for sure
So it’s clearly possible, also met many other solo players arround high diamond to master. - Balladalidila3 years agoSeasoned Ace
When you use terms like your teammates lacked "common sense", especially considering you are referring to arenas at very low elo, which requires very little strategy and macro, then I think you actually prove my point. You were probably not better or worse than your teammates. You just lacked the synergy and understanding how to play the game in a similar way with most of your teammates.
Thats the issue with most arguments I see on "bad" random teammates. Everyone think that THEIR way of thinking is the objectively correct way. When you push in and your teammates dont follow, its them who lack "common knowledge" to go with you. But when they push in and you cant follow, then its them again who lack "common knowledge" to play more cautiously and slow. See what I mean? This is not meant as an insult but I am pretty sure that if people could see recordings of all your ranked matches, most people would also agree that Silver3 this just was your solo Q peak rank.
I play solo Q ranked alot, usually 2-3 accounts from gold2 to diamond3 and I get so much rage and flame from premade duos and its always the same; they think I am a noob who lack "common sense" only because I cant read their minds and hear what they say on their private discord.- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Balladalidila99% i get the below 100 kill mates ... thats bad random players for smb that has multiple thousand kills. and 99% tells me thats on intention ! It has a reason why i call the system rigged since season 6. I dont believe a single word of Samy Ducs Blogpost, thats just phony lies !
I know a lot of people that loved Apex but quit bcs they hated how the system is rigged against them. - snoonline3 years agoSeasoned Rookie
I think the basic point OP is trying to make is that in a team-based game, your TMs fundamentally matter ... And when there really is a tangible skill disparity, that limits one's capacity to climb.
This is neither a new concept, nor inaccurate.
Imagine the following, common solo-queue experience: You load into a game with 1 low skill/rank player, and 1 mid or even high skill/rank player. The high-skill/rank gets DC'd, and the low-skill/rank is AFK until they drop.
There is nothing you can do that game except rat and try to 3P for a kill or 2 ... And that's on the presumption that you luck-out with rotations, and even come across accessible fights in the 1st place.
It's a crap hand to be dealt, but it happens. Often.
Still my fault, eh? Heh ...
TLDR: Don't oversimplify things ... You're just spouting the same reductive and fallacious narrative. It's not wrong to ask for an unjust situation to be remedied somehow. For starters: Penalties for inactivity and sabotage; separate solo vs premade queues for better balance; etc.
Charitable interpretations of what others are trying to say will help the cause 😑

DC:ed, AFK and much lower ranked teammates are ofc "unfair". I dont disagree with this. But I am pretty sure that the OP isnt referring to these things. Ive seen this guy on this forum since S3 and he does these posts all the time. "My teammates are bad, fix it".What I am saying is that people think their random teammates are OBJECTIVLY worse than them in pure Apex skills and therefore claims the matchmaking is unfair and rigged specifically towards them but in reality, it is more due to the fact that they are randoms, i.e they have no teamplay.
Example: Imagine a ranked match with randoms where I crack one enemy in a 3v3 situation. I spam enemy here, meaning "lets hardpush because I cracked one". I go in without looking at the minimap and dies 1v3. A guy like the OP will now think "Argh my bad teammates! Why dont they follow? Thats why I cant rank up". But lets say one of them had no ammo, and the other one just generally dont prefer to take close range fights. And lets also assume that both of them got shot by a third team EXACTLY at the same time when I called for the hardpush so they interpreted my "enemy here" pings as "enemy here, lets get out of here". So they will think "omg look at this clueless noob who just pushes into the enemy team 1v3 when we get third partied. Why do we always get matched with noobs who holds us back from ranking up".
We both will end that match thinking our teammates are bad and noobs unless we actually use our brains and accept that solo Q WILL lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications like this. This is something that never can be "solved". The only real solution to these things is to play with premades so you can choose a shot caller and build teamwork
But by all means, prove me wrong! Show me a a screenshot of you having 2.5+ KD, 800+ average dmg dealt in ranked and STILL are hardstuck in, lets say Platinum after 200+ matches there and I will definitely agree that you seem to be smashing without ranking up, i.e your teammates must be total trash every game. But you will never find such proof. Why? Because people who play well and above average every match will rank up and people who complain about "bad teammates every game" more likely are equally bad (or good, whatever you prefer) but just to clueless to see it for the reasons I mentioned above.
